Hypothetical #29837728 based on trade rumours from the last 2 pages:

Stanley to Geelong - pick 21
Armo & 41 to Richmond - pick 12
Pick 1 + 22 to GWS - picks 4 + 7 + 19

Lose: Stanley, Armo, picks 1, 22 & 41

Gain: picks 4, 7, 12, 19, 21

Too steep to lose Stanley IMO. we put the hard yards into him - he finally had a year of continuity not only in the team, but in his best position, and you could tell his confidence was improving week by week. It's no coincidence when we were dominating he was a huge part of it, we'd be foolish to give him up for anything in the 20s. I would be very very reluctant to do so.

Yep, but gee, I wouldn't give up Stanley for pick 21. Doesn't sit well enough for me to be willing to pull the trigger.

IF it were something like, pick 14 for Stanley + pick 38, it would get me closer to a yes.

Armitage is obviously an important cog in our midfield, and probably more important to us than most other clubs due to the (starting to hate this phrase) age profile of our list.

That being said - if pick 12 was on the table we'd have to strongly consider it.

Like Stanley a lot, but on the flip side, how long do we wait for there to be more than flashes of ability from him, for some genuine consistency?

I hope he stays, but Pick 21 for an inconsistent former Pick 47 isn't a terrible deal...

Stanley fits our list requirements being a forward/ruck but in all honesty he's very ordinary. Pick 21 is a massive win.

If they want Stanley so bad then you try for pick 14. If you get it great. Something not right if Cats are after both Clark and Stanley.

My thinking would be that if we traded Stanley for 21, we would trade 1 for 4 + 7.

We would then pick up wright or McCartin @ 4 a mid @ 7 and McKenzie @ 21 (for barrels)
