Would you/we be happy with this? I'm asking cos i wouldnt have a clue about the likes of Garlett or Hammelmann, would be happy enough with CP (of course) & EVW

Hammelmann is a 1 trick pony, and it's not a very good trick. I'd take Vickers and Garlett, he's a really hard runner who has what we need - leg speed. I'm afraid that West Coast might take him if Pickett is gone.

I thought he was supposed to be good enough for Brisbane to grab eagerly. There was some surprise when Brissy didn't get him. Has that possibly made people look for his faults. I have only heard good stuff about him. Hammillman and Ubergang were both suggested to be Brisbane academy pick ups with Hammillman ahead of Ubergang. Noted mostly be me because of their awesome names.

21/22 - EVW/Garlett/Cockatoo/R McKenzie/Ellis/DeGoey
41 - McDonald/Keitel/D V-R/Grace/Cunico/Lonie

Given that the selectors & recruiters have stated that they are still after the best available talent, not so much by 'needs' yet, I'd be most keen for us to take CP, 2 outside running types & 1 KPP

We will delist him then the Bombers will probably sign him up and make him vice captain .
BJ, Chappy, Gwilt, Cooney & Milera all part of Bombers leadership group next yr as the Bombers field their reserves team

We can still delist him, we just have to pay out his contract. I'd assume he wouldn't be on much anyway.

i dont think we are going to delist any players, based on freeing up spots, without there either being a major breach of contract or without the players consent

if we were just going to do it, we wouldnt have that article stating we needed to catch up with milera and to work out whats going on. it would have just been done, like jones

paying a player out and throwing their contract in the bin, is a double edged sword. whilst you do get the list spot, you also send a message your contracts are worthless. not sure we want that image

i saw both picket and garlett play in the championships, then i got to see them play subi late in the year in a night game. both had quiet ones, even though south unexpectedly beat subi. subi were in a bit of a form slump, just before finals. on that night garlett was probably better than pickett. garlett is not as skilled as pickett nor is he as good inside as pickett. he's an outside runner

my concern with garlett is that he could turn out to be a milera just without the skill. garlett is not blessed with a boot but he is very quick and agile, and can get on a run on the outside. he's not as good in the air as milera. both lack the ability to tackle and apply defencive pressure, if garlett cannot find a way to build his body up, win the one on ones, tackle and apply defensive pressure then he will be a bust. lewis jetta is one i look to, he's quick, good on the outside, skilled. but he can also rough it, get in there and take a hit and get the ball out. not sure garlett will be able to do that

Where in the article does it say that? It just says we'll delist him.

I remember us doing the same thing with Nick Winmar.
