Highly unlikely.

Petracca reminds me of a young Patrick Dangerfield - in so many aspects.

If you read the draft reports , everyone is a young someone

I haven't seen the tapes and frankly I don't give a shit about them anymore
We need to judge the character of the person as much as their highlights tape

Nathan jones probably wasn't close to the most skilled player at draft camp but he has had the desire to be the best he can
I want that attribute in every draftee from now on

He's a workhorse, and a great kid from all reports.

I think the bulldogs should give them Griffen for Pick 1 and one of their fringe talls if they rate whoever the best tall is. The dogs will be fine without him and they desperately need some quality talls to go with their mids

That could be dangerous for both clubs.

a. Griffen is 28 and I don't see him being Boomer-like and playing til his mid 30's so it's too much for GWS to give up for a short term player.
b. Trading like that works fine in computer games but in real life where personalities are involved, trading the captain away could be highly destabilising for the Bulldogs, similar to us culling McDonald early.

I would think the Dogs will try to trade up using their top pick and a quality midfielder they can afford to lose.

Yeah im just thinking of what else the bulldogs have that would be worth a number 1 pick, someone like Bontempelli but I dont think you would sacrifice him

Who do you think GWS would take if St Kilda take Petracca at 1 and GWS have 2nd pick? Sorely they wouldn't take McCartin.

Pickett probably, but considering they draft almost only from Vic Metro I'd say Laverde and Ahern would come into the mix - maybe Lever.

Does anyone see any scenario where ( and I dont know the draftees at all so im just spitballing) where we take the 2 best talls on offer ?

I would think we would avoid taking wright because you just dont need to grab ruckman early, So maybe McCartin and Brayshaw are just locks at this stage?
Also liking the look of Goddard with our second pick

Isn't that what we were saying about Nathan Freeman last year? There's also a "Pendlebury-type" that comes through every year too, who is it this year?

For what it's worth though, I'm on the Petracca train too;).

Good thing Wright's a forward... not a ruckman!

He's only played occasionally in the ruck because of his height, he's stated he sees himself as a forward - he's got a great kick on him and a great pair of hands.

Griffen has been well below pick 1 worthy this year. Will be 29 next year, no way the Saints would give up pick 1 for two or three years of him below his best.

Oh I was making the assumption GWS would have it for some reason and I also thought Griffen was a little younger

Carry on

They were saying the recruiters see him as more of a ruckman, anyway I still couldnt see us taking 2 tall forwards even though with Hogan it would set us up for 15 years

Maybe that's fair enough, I reckon there would be half that see him as a ruck and half that see him as a forward probably!
