No, YOU have at it.
Rightio I'll kick it off. How's Claye Beams coming along? I haven't kept up to date with his progress recently. He appeared to be on the cusp of breaking out before his injury. Would be just about a lock for me if he was going to play round 1. Cheers.

Has the all clear for his knee and is training well - was singled out by Leppa as a good performer on the track. He's probably not quite a lock yet (bit of competition for the midfield spots) but he's definitely in the mix.

Thanks for the reply.

Beams will play round 1 if fully fit. No doubt in my mind
I just don't see that it is so definitive. He's in my best 22 and I think he's probably going to be a front runner for one of the vacant spots.

But he's coming off a 12 month layoff due to a serious injury, hasn't played a pre-season game and has a few to compete with for a spot. In my mind, he's not a sure thing for round 1 just yet, even if I think he's more likely than not to be named.

Isn't he going to play in one of the NAB challenge games?

I believe so but he hasn't done so yet. Wait until we see some exposed form before declaring him, I reckon.

He was terrific in last years NAB games, played the first 2 rounds of the season from memory (before getting injured)? I am expecting him to do the same thing this year, but hopefully not get injured this time

Lewis Taylor.

Big fantasy wraps but how have reports been on him from within the club over pre season? Obviously you have brought in a number of high draftees this yr which adds to competition and how does he stack up in comparison so far.

With the exile of younger guys last year is there a position for him to take or have those players not so much opened up the right spots and he more likely a mayes like mid season downgrade and not so much on the rd 1 radar?

Hanley- I see he is listed in the midfield for most of your best 22s.

Will he be playing more of a midfield role this year? Can you see his scores, and importantly, his consistency increasing this year?

Was somewhat of a roller-coaster ride last year and I'm worried about picking him up over someone like Bartel.

Thoughts?

His career seems to be progressing more to a full time midfield/wing role. He wasn't really part of our backline unit last year, although he did spend some time behind the footy.

The main risk with Hanley is his susceptibility to a tag. He is probably our number two tag target behind Rich and, like Rich, hasn't quite worked out how to beat a tag. I think that his inconsistency last season was due to opposition's defensive jobs.

Of course, every Lions player has a question mark due to the change in coach - we don't know yet what role Leppa would have in mind and we did lose a couple of small/medium defenders last year. Still, I think it is a safe bet that Hanley won't be giving defensive lockdown roles.

I have Hanley in my side for SC (only Lions player at this stage - rookies pending) over Bartel.

I'm expecting him to bump up another 5 points or so on average, but I don't expect him to get tagged as often as one might think. Few teams play two real taggers, and I still think Rich will be the target of choice because he can just destroy teams up the middle whereas Hanley, coming off a wing, is easier to defend against. Having said that, I'd take all of Bartel, McVeigh and Mitchell over him - Hanley's been in and out of my D4.

Hows Zorko shaping up for this year lads? looking for a bit of a POD...

Cheers!

Has had a good pre-season. His fantasy scoring will probably depend more on his role than his form. However, with the interchange cap, he could play midfield more often than last year.

excellent. Thanks for the reply

I had Aish penciled into my SC no matter what team he went to. That being said, now he is at Brisbane I can't decide whether to go with Aish or Beams.

So are they both likely to be in the best 22?
