So the AFL denied a priority pick for Melbourne but in reality gave it to them in pick 3 for Frawley.

This just ridiculous. Don't agree with how they structure these compensation picks as Pick 3 for Frawley is crazy when you think most want to just give us pick 4 or 5 now for Beams. Has to be changed as there is no flexibility to take into account common sense.

The whole drafting FS and trading game needs to change. If clubs like Hawthorn and Sydney continue to recruit and trade like they do then how is this working for other.

Just a quick question his guys.

If we gain Greenwood and Redden and lose Beams(along with a draft pick or two).

Is our midfield stronger than it was with Beams? Or weaker?

You'd lose polish but add grunt imo.. which frankly is exactly what we need. Short term marginal loss, but provided we see improvement from the younger guys or pick up someone like a Dangerfield as a FA next year, it becomes an enormous win.

I'd be stoked to end up with Redden out of all this, just cant see it happening

Mitch Cleary is reporting that Levi Greenwood will announce his football future tomorrow. He is currently away in Bali, and will decide between staying at North Melbourne,or seeking a trade to Collingwood or Western Bulldogs.

3AW earlier reported this afternoon that Greenwood had informed all of North Melbourne, and his manager of his wish to be traded to Collingwood

Will Melbourne receiving pick 3 for Frawley help our case if we wanted to try get pick 2 off them? I doubt we'd find a way to snag pick 1, but getting Brayshaw would be huge IMO, and a far better fit for our needs than what we get for pick 4.

I like Brayshaw. I would do pick 5 + Lumumba for Pick 2 or 3.

It's sad ( in a pathetic way) that Melbourne Footy Club has been reduced to being like seagulls feeding off the AFL handouts.

That said, a competitive Melbourne is a good thing for their loyal supporters and the footy community in general.

The AFL want them better and were always going to look after them to a degree.

I'm sure it was a middling decision to give them a generous compensation pick after denying them a priority pick.

Both would have been excessive and overly rewarding their mediocrity, but to deny both would have left them overly struggling.

I admire most of the teams in the comp in one way or another ( except Carlton, and Essendon of late ) but gee I find it impossible to admire Melbourne in any way.

Can you link to the 3AW link as so far from these facebook trade sites we have had the following two bogus rumours:

Barrett states Fasolo being traded - utter made up garbage

A player that Collingwood have requested along with pick four that Brisbane initially declined, Brisbane are coming around to and will speak to that player (who has been unnamed) about a shift to Collingwood - unsourced and most likely bollocks clickbait

He also couldn't remember which players we'd asked for (and I doubt Zorko would be one of them as Dekka would know the Lions wouldn't even consider parting with him), so you'd take what Schwab has to say with a grain of salt.

Some terrific types in that lot. Could be a draft that really rounds out some wonderful recruiting over the last few years. After that you'd go experienced players.

No it wasnt, that was a story that got started and was never truly investigated. The true story was that zaharakis didnt want to do it because he didnt think it was right.
