on AFL.com.au there's an article where the Laws Committee are thinking about making the distance for marks 20 metres...

Yeah saw that earlier, what also caught my eye was this:

Meanwhile, Fairfax Media also reported that at least three club chief executives have been approached to apply for the AFL's CEO position, soon to be vacated by Andrew Demetriou,

Brendon Gale (Richmond), Brian Cook (Geelong) and Stuart Fox (Hawthorn) have reportedly been approached by the AFL as it searches for a replacement to Demetriou.

No Trigg? Wha?

Ok, so I just had a check of all the public holiday timeslots that are currently unclaimed. I reckon with our amazing administration and their incomparable negotiation skills we would have a shot at a couple of them.

New Year's Day blockbuster.
Australia Day blockbuster.
Labour Day blockbuster.
Christmas Eve blockbuster.
Proclamation Day blockbuster.

Of course we could always play in the middle of Flemington for the must see Melbourne Cup blockbuster.
It's not a public holiday but they'll probably come up with a gem like Shrove Tuesday..
Flat as a pancake, like the management..

No Trigg? Wha?

I usually like the banter but perhaps if this was Crows supporters only it wouldn't become a "Port thread for the Crows board" with all the back and forward and encourage more general AFL discussion.

After all there is plenty of places for other supporters to have general AFL chat on Big Footy, most other club boards use these threads for their clubs supporters take on different things, even if they don't have to label it.

How long for shephards? Maybe Dougie can get off retrospectively

Not that I care about this particular rule change but it does frustrate me that a mindset has emerged within the AFL that rules need to be constantly changing.

It's very reactive

It's like from the Simpsons when they keep getting over run with different animals, so they bring in the next highest on the food chain to take care of the current problem animal, but they just end up overrun with a different animal

Yet another change which will lead to more congestion, they don't even pretend to think these things through anymore...

When did this thread become Crows only, I was pushing for this during the offseason and had one of the mods say no. I'm glad it is, we should have a Crows only thread and say anything we want amongst ourselves without outsiders critiquing what we are saying.

Look, I hate bay 13 but I was just having a quick read as a heading caught my eye.

Do the port Adelaide supporters forget that Matt Rendell was an assistant coach at the club? That KKK bullshit gives me the shits and what they seem to forget is, if he was allegedly a racist at the crows - those traits would have been with him at Port Adelaide.

Goodness, a bunch of idiots.

BTW - don't agree with the idea of crows only. It only makes us look insular and not willing to accept outside opinions. Let's them have there say and if they cross the line, boot them out.

Let me be clear we don't like it and a poster putting it in the title doesn't make it so. And can be changed.

I don't disagree with what he said. He wasn't coming from a place of hatred when he made those comments.

In fact the Adelaide supporters had a very xenophobic attitude towards recruiting Victorians in the early 90s.

I thought the clubs attitude was just shit by booting him. How about educating someone and giving them the opportunity to learn and change in the way he communicates.

The only thing he did wrong was making the statement public.

It's like a business not recruiting a woman who is 7 months pregnant for a job, they won't say that they didn't recruit her because she was pregnant but will offer other excuses instead.

Actually a better analogy is a business does hire a 7 month pregnant woman, and then gets accused of being biased against hiring them because of a conversation down the pub questioning whether the system really worked as well as intended.

Lets not forget the last player MR drafted did not have a white parent.

1) we were not xenophobic towards Victorians, we were not allowed to enter the draft until 1993.

2) the statement wasn't the point, it's the fact they accuse the entire Adelaide Football Club and everyone involved as being racist. The fact he was a coach at the club first, has been lost on them.
