It's going to be annoying this year as people in the media begin saying "oh, who would've thought the Gold Coast would be playing finals?" I did for one. People being paid to do so seem to have trouble picking the trends in footy. GWS won't be far behind, maybe next year they'll play finals.

This team has so much pace and as the young guys start to believe in their talent - look out. Hopefully for him Jack Martin's injury is not significant.

I have to admit it is neck and neck between Hardwick and Scott, as to who reacts the worse to a loss. So easy to take the piss out of. I hope neither of them get the sack any time soon and the laughs keep on coming!

Yes, a monumental first round of AFL -good wins but a little bit worrying 2 or 3 years down the track. Too any concessions for these new kids on the block. I seem to remember hearing yesterday that GWS have 27 1st round draft picks on their list - that is staggering!

I'm just glad the AFL stopped them for trading back in to the mini draft like they wanted so they could get O'Meara as well.

The Suns will play finals this year - they'll be a much better team once Bock comes back and plays at FF - will give them more structure. Add Martin and Bennell and on their day they could beat any team any where.. be scared!

I grew a soft spot for the Suns as soon as our Bluey became their coach..I'm wrapt for him and really want him to succeed. People who were calling for his head after only 1-2 years are idiots, this is a brand new footy club in an incredibly competitive age and he is doing an amazing job developing them and building culture and respect..I for one am proud of him Bluey
And I'm happy for Ablett too, I feel privileged every time I watch him play, and he has blossomed up there.

I love Richmond the most, they just suffer and suffer and suffer, all I can ever remember of them since I was a kid is 'rebuilding' They are like a delicate house of cards that just never gets past 2-3 layers before some natural disaster knocks it down and they have to start it all over again.

actually if you compare the two I think GWS will be the better team of the two, yeah GC midfield will be unstoppable. but GWS Forwardline is just as unstoppable too.

Forward line of Patten, Cameron, Boyd who I see as being possible the best forwardline ever.
Midfield of Whitefield, Ward, Congilo, Scully, Green, Sheils, Treloar is good.
Defense of Davis, Shaw, Hunt ok there defence is a little shaky but easy to fix with a few back flankers.

now Goldcoast
Forwardline is a little weak, Sam Day, B Matera T Lynch, maybe N Bock but I thought he was a defender and Dixon. not superstars like GWS will be.
Midfield Ablett, Benell, Swallow, O'meara, Martin, Prestia, Rischitelli, Kade Kolodjashnij top draft pick of last year, what can you say.
Defense Rory Thompson, not much else pretty average actually.

close call but right now Id say GWS have more of a team in place. GC have ???? over there Forwardline and Defense mainly their just a super midfield and not much else,
