we got butler for pick nothing, and short castagna and lambert as rookies. butler short and lambert all have grounds to claim top 20 picks.
Lambert would be top 5-10

that comment was months before the Hawkins game.

I still reckon he will be fine. Not many young KPD become tge number 1 man at an early age

Fair enough I didn't look at the post date.

People thought rance was a dud early days too (most still do apparently) but you could see his ability to read the play early on although he came on a little later than some. Sounds like you have the same optimism for McDonald.

I'm critical of Petracca, but its the hype around him that is damaging more than anything. He's actually put together some decent form after that much-publicised dry patch in June. People don't blink when he gets the ball 25 times and kicks one or two, because more is expected. I would have him outside the top five, but clearly in the top 10.
  1. Andrews
  2. Heeney
  3. Lever
  4. De Goey
  5. Brayshaw
  6. McLean
  7. Petracca
  8. McGovern
  9. Miller
  10. Lambert
Langford, Weller, Ahern look like movers too.

From a Melbourne perspective, this is the kind of draft haul that we failed to nail for so long. Three guys in the top 10, Oscar McDonald up and down this year but looking great for a beanpole pick 53 playing on the best forward every week, Neal-Bullen quietly turning into a gut running mid/forward, and even Stretch was finding his feet again before going down.
I reckon Weller is past Miller. The rest I generally Agree with.

Chris Paul isn't the first NBA player to be nicknamed that way. AK47 and CB4 are other examples.

Although CP3 is actually called CP3 because he's the 3rd in his lineage to have CP as his initials.
Yes but I've seen an interview where Christian Petracca directly says he's named himself after Chris Paul....

CP3..... CP5.

Also didn't say Chris Paul was the first....

I don't think OMac will reach anywhere near the level of Rance but I am confident he can be a long term fullback for us.

That game v Geelong I doubt many players in the league could have stopped Hawkins in that form. Kicking goals from the ruck, roving snapped goals, he was doing everything. Plus it doesn't help when he kicks 7 straight either.

There have only been 3 games where a forward has really gotten hold of him this year (Hawkins, Brown & Cox) and to be fair 2 of them are most likely going to All Australians

Gave himself the nickname?? Now I really hope he is a bust

Its a touch embarrassing, isn't it.

Even still, Petracca will play 200 more games even if he's somehow already peaked.

1. Jordan De Goey
2. Isaac Heeney
3. Harris Andrews (Seems to really struggle with strength vs the stronger KPFs)
4. Angus Brayshaw
5. Jack Lever
6. Christian Petracca
7. Toby Mclean
8. Jack Steele
9. Kane Lambert
10. Mitch Mcgovern

I think many non-collingwood supporters would agree that De Goey probably has the biggest upside of the entire draft. Looks to be on track to match Martin's forward and midfield prowess.

Heeney is very efficient and impactful with each of his possessions, but to be elite you'd need both efficiency and production.

If Brayshaw can fix up his shocking disposals he could continue to rise.

Not sure where Petracca's best position is atm, seems to be mediocre at both forward and midfield, but him being able to rotate inbetween makes him a valuable player.

Toby was boarderline in AA form early on in the season.

This was looking like a near bust draft for us, though i was quietly confident given i liked Lav and Langford pre-draft, but their development was looking shaky.
Watching the breakouts in the year, a lot came from this draft. Which goes to show patience is required before judging most kids.

Langford, Laverde, McKenna (rookie), McKernan (rookie)
Aylett was rookied along with Long looking like the two that won't make it.

See above because that's more like it.

The rest of them will filter in soon and tell you that DeGoey is clear #1, Moore is better than Andrews and Cox is top 15.
Mate, we are not dickeads.

However DeGoey is clear#1, Moore is better than Andrews and Cox is top 15.

Lol.
