Young quality KPP please.

Let Gibbs go. We can use the compo on another good KPP or mid. We really do need another mid with Menzel's size and skill coming through as well.

Robinson, White, Ellard, Rowe, Mclean, Armfield, Bell, Garlett should be put up for trade or delisted.

The bolded have trade value and we should be looking to hit the draft hard this year.

Players that are 20-25 is where our improvement should be coming from, but if you break down our players in this age bracket it isn't pretty.

25 years old
Ellard
Everitt
Garlett
Gibbs
Henderson
Kruezar
Robinson
Tuohy
White

Kruezar & Gibbs still potential but are solid enough players yet still disappoint considering there draft selection, Garlett and Everitt get pass marks, the rest of them if they are in our side we will never be a top 4 team.

24 years
Casboult
Curnow
Henderson

24 years
Hendersen is a star and Curnow solid, If Casboult doesn't show more very soon I think he should go

23 years
Lucas
Sheehan
Yarran

Yaz can be amazing but doesn't do it often enough, too early to call on the Irishman, Lucas is not good enough

22
Bell
Cachia
McInnes

None are currently AFL standard

21
Bootsma
Buckley
Watson

Buckley looks great, the other 2 the jury is still out but looking more and more pessimistic towards them.

20
Docherty
Teemay

Both should be given an opportunity to prove themselves, but would want to make an impact fairly quickly.
I love Hendo, but surely even he isn't good enough to be 24 & 25 at the same time.

Agreed. Malthouse was hasty in delisting Laidler after injury mismanagement. McInnes deserves the benefit of the doubt, for a while at least.

That said, I can't see us keeping all 3 of Bootsma, White and Andy come year's end.

These 3 as our 3rd tall makes me want to cry.. Two of them have ok disposals but terrible decision makers and physically not up to AFL level.. The other, has build but has terrible disposal AND terrible decision making to match..

All three lack confidence and mental fortitude which is a pre-requisite for a member of a solid back 6..

no chance. melbourne are looking for quality and robinson cannot kick to save his life. GWS and GCS both have big enough bodies that they dont need someone like him to come in and protect others either.

mclean is a 1 trick pony.

id sooner trade kreuzer(bust imo) and Gibbs who might actually garner us a quality pick

Trade:
Walker
Garlett

Delist:
Warnock
McLean
Robinson

Retire:
Scotland
Carrazzo
Waite

Could get something for Jeffy.
Walker may go to a club in contention, but can't see us getting more than a lake type trade.
Would try to offload Knockers for a third rounder and 206 pinches of shit. (Draft a readymade and upgrade Wood as back-up for MK, geez i just threw up in my mouth a little)

Shop McLean and Robbo.

Carazzo & Waite on notice both have some short term upside in the next 2 years.

Look how quickly Port turned things around. 6 more good young players is the big part of the puzzle. Play Graham, Cripps, Teemay and Watson for starters

I'd trade Warnock before Kreuzer. One is a soft lumbering sack of manure. The other is just injury prone and bleeds for the team.

Gibb is a FA anyway.

Casboult, Graham, Docherty, Cripps, Mcinnes, Watson, Lucas, Temay, Holman. Pick 6 and run with them since they have far more upside then the guys they are replacing.

White, Ellard, Garlett, Rowe, Bell, Robinson, Waite and Warnock are either not up to it or lazy.

We just re-signed Walker, could we really trade him?

(I'm not suggesting we do. I don't want to. Just asking if you're actually allowed to do that)

Pick all of them. Not immediately but introduce them during the year.

Graham is a potential skipper.

Walker would need to agree to the trade, but most players do if they find out they are not wanted by the club anymore.

I reckon I have a fairly realistic view of where we are at and what our players would likely fetch on an open market, if we were to put our entire list up for trade I reckon this is fairly accurate with how it would fall..

Armfield, Dennis – 3rd rounder
Bell, Tom – 3rd rounder
Bootsma, Joshua – 3rd rounder
Buckley, Dylan – 2nd rounder
Byrne, Ciaran (R) nothing
Cachia, Jaryd (R) nothing
Carrazzo, Andrew 3rd rounder
Casboult, Levi nothing
Cripps, Patrick – 1st rounder
Curnow, Edward – 2nd rounder
Docherty, Sam – 2nd rounder
Ellard, David – nothing
Everitt, Andrejs – 3rd rounder
Garlett, Jeff – 3rd rounder
Gibbs, Bryce – 1st rounder
Giles, Cameron – 2nd rounder
Graham, Nicholas – 2nd rounder
Henderson, Lachlan – 1st rounder
Holman, Nick 3rd rounder
Jamison, Michael 1st rounder
Johnson, Blaine (R) nothing
Judd, Chris – 2nd rounder
Kreuzer, Matthew – 2nd rounder
Lucas, Kane – 3rd rounder
McInnes, Andrew nothing
McLean, Brock nothing
Menzel, Troy 2nd rounder
Murphy, Marc 1st rounder
Reynolds, Luke (R) nothing
Robinson, Mitch – 3rd rounder
Rowe, Sam – nothing
Scotland, Heath (R) nothing
Sheehan, Ciaran (R) nothing
Simpson, Kade - 3rd rounder
Temay, Tom nothing
Thomas, Dale 1st rounder
Tuohy, Zach 3d rounder
Waite, Jarrad nothing
Walker, Andrew 2nd rounder
Warnock, Robert 3rd rounder
Watson, Matthew 2nd rounder
White, Simon nothing
Wood, Cameron (R) nothing
Yarran, Christopher 2nd rounder

So based on that, the only players I would be happy to lose for that pick would be Arnfield, Gibbs, Robinson, Simpson, Touhy, Walker..

Menzel for a 2nd rounder? Really?
Do you think he is worth more or less?? He is young, with 2 preseasons under his belt has shown a bit without looking like a superstar when compared to other 2nd round players Wines, Macrae,, Omera but has a stack of potential, I would say its unlikely clubs would offer up a 1st round pick in what is supposed to be a strong draft, they would rather try there luck and back in their recruiting department. So perhaps a high 2nd round pick.

What has he done to decrease his value from his original draft rating?

Note - unlike Macrae, Wines etc he was drafted on the back of knee injuries, had no preseason in 2013 & wasn't a ready built beast like Wines, Viney etc.

We all love Menzel and think he will play a big role in our resurrection, but he has so far played 9 games, averaging 7.1 disposals, 1.5 tackles and 1.1 goals a game.. hardly stuff that is going to wow the other clubs enough to part with a first round pick.

Menz has been sub a few times now.

Yet Lions get a 1st rounder for Polec who did nothing in nearly 4 years?

That's not how it works.

No point debating it though - because we all know Menz aint getting traded.

No one is suggesting that, I simply put what I thought he and everyone else was worth on an open market if the whole list was put up for trade.

Menzel would be a late first round pick at worst. Shown great vision, skill and class. All he needs to do is get his fitness up to scratch and he will become a very very good HF or midfielder.
