Young Tall Defenders is probably not a priority for us anyway fortunately (certainly not above young forward anyway)

Damien Barrett *cough*grainofsalt*cough* on Triple M tonght saying that Brisbane are locked to get Shache no matter if we get pick 1, 2 or effectively even 3. Says "Shache is happy to go to brisbane" wheras Weitering does not want to come to us and Carlton want him over Shache anyway.
Also later said Gold Coast will not take Weitering or Shache if they finish bottom 2, they do not want talls.

It really pisses me of when Gary Lyons says he is the best in the business. Based on what he says, I think he just makes it up as he goes along.

It's all self-promoting BS for their footy show and radio ratings. Barrett was barely a journo when he was employed by traditional media, now it is all self-promotion to spin as much coin out of croc(of shit) media as possible.

Basing a draft strategy around a player that could have a 2 year holiday is pretty dangerous. And if they lose Henderson it essentially leaves them in the same position. Maybe this is me willing Schache to us but I can't see Carlton not taking Wietering.

Getting Carlisle is a big maybe I would have thought..... Bulldogs would have to be favs wouldn't they? Why leave the Bombers to go to Carlton unless they offer a monster deal? It doesnt stack up for me.

Hope this talk of 'release Aish into the draft' doesn't have any merit. The way I see it, the draft pick we get (which is most likely to be unders) will pay a portion / majority of one of the academy boys, and personally I see getting academy guys in as being way more important in this draft.

Im starting to worry that the Blues will finish bottom and Kruezer will leave as a free agent and get the blues Band 1 compo, leaving them to take both Schache and Weitering

If that happens we just take francis and build the club around him. It's not ideal but he is the next best player and has said he wouldn't mind being a lions player. Then we just get schache in 2 years time

This is what makes the recruiters' decision so hard - seems a great kid and clearly moving interstate would not be his preferred outcome but does that mean he is likely to want to leave after two years? Less likely with a country Vic boy but still ...

If they get band 1 for Kreuzer we'll get band 1 for Leuey and we'll take Francis and probably Parrish or Mills or Hopper.

The good thing is it'll make the AFL change that stupid rule because Frawley, Kreuzer and Leuey are not worth anything near a top 4 pick

Why haven't they resigned him. Kruezer is gone, as long as they get a top 2 pick as compensation. If they don't then they will match the deal offered by the rival club as a restricted FA.
