Agreed. Also seems like he considers himself pretty hard. While all good for big talk it doesn't bode well for sustainable player management.

Yeah, good article. Interesting that for a long time in the NFL they had the same discussion: why, when so many of the best American footballers are black, aren't there any black head coaches? While there have been some breaking through recently, I think it's still a live issue.

really liked Phil Walsh's press conference this week after the game. straight shooter, knows the game . can see why he is highly rated. people having a crack at him based on media perception are laughable.

Maybe I'm on my own on this, but Phil Walsh strikes me as a bit of an idiot.

Dunno. He comes across as a bit of a simpleton, but I think he is a good coach.

Maybe not a great coach that can reach ultimate success, but his positive influence as an assistant (and what happens after he leaves) seems to suggest he has some kind of idea what he is doing.

Unfortunatly in Sydney the percentage of coverage isn't based on teams but is instead split over codes. Depending on the paper, you gotta go about four of five pages in before you get a section on AFL
