this is true, but even with Jenkins mediocre ruck abilities giving him 15-20 minutes shouldn't be the difference between us winning and losing on a consistent basis.
IMO the congestion around the ball these days has significantly reduced the influence of the ruck contest and its our mid's work on the ground that really needs to improve. Sauce of course is a fantastic ruckman, but the fact we've lost or only broken even on clearances in games that he's dominated in the hitouts says a lot about both our midfield and the state of the game. Some teams seem to read Jacob's taps better than we do, and when Jacobs is losing the hitouts we're bloody nowhere.
that's the reason Thommo is still a walk-up start when I'd prefer he was phased out too, he's the only bloke who knows where to stand!
That last sentence is a problem in itself. Ignoring our woeful stoppage work, quality not quantity, my main beef with Sauce is seeing him ruck deep in the forward line. It's not just his time in ruck, it's that he covers near 100% of the ground. JJ effectively becomes an on baller in a congested area, which is useless. If Sauce is going to continue to go down there then JJ should get out and play the kick behind.

Yes, I'd of thought in those situations we'd choose to use Sauce as a bit of a wall for the back 50 area and let Jenkins tuck. If they decide to bomb it out of our forward half then Sauce is there as a big target to take a mark and push it back into our forward line agai.

It's a little unsettling how attached Geelong are to Dangerfield. He wasn't even in their side a year ago. Now he's their pin up.

Not really. We didn't really become enamoured with Eddie until midway throughout his first season. I can not remember any publicity from him during his first pre season.

Can't wait for this to all blow up in Geelong's face. Danger is a gun but the rest of their ins are either just average (Henderson/Smith) or spuds (Selwood) and given who they've lost or are about to lose after the 2016 season, they're barely breaking even and I can easily see it going belly up.
The fapping by the media over them reminds me of how much Brisbane were talked up as top 4 after Crazy Vossy's infamous trade period a few years ago. Danger and an easy draw will see them get top 8 but not much further than that IMO. The other three won't make the massive difference that the vic-centric media are wishing for.

Of course you don't, because you probably wouldn't have thought he was if he still played for us.
It's no different than him being a strong anti alcohol guy, he's talked about that before when it's been in the news.

Talk about double standards. How many AFL players have taken it one step further and actually pounded another of the male species only to receive a slap on the wrist?
tHe simple fact that a threat was made against a women doesn't make the crime any worse does it?
iMagine if it where a man who told him to shut the f up, you think he would have made such a threat, or simply followed through with his initial instinct?
What would have been made of this whole scenario should he have knocked a male on his arse compared to a mere threat.

Already is. See the frequency in which the AFL includes mention/photos of him in articles. It's a bit ... over the top, and part of me feels that his move to Geelong was something the AFL were really big on happening.
Adelaide United can't even beat a 10 man Sydney FC. What a joke we are..........
