Contract extension in the works for Eagles defender Tom Barrass. Should be signed by round one. West Coast know they've got a good one

Heard this morning from a Mate with Carlton connections similar and that its will be done shortly.
Needless to say I was not impressed one iota with that shit news.
I was just about to rant when he reminded me not to shoot the messenger.
Well, he did have a very interrupted preseason. I'll maintain that he's definitely under the pump, but I still reckon the odds are better that he'll retain his spot. The team as a whole seemed to regress on the toughness and tackling from 2015.
Jobs for the boyz
Liam Ryan ? is he worth pick 34One of the following:
Dylan Clarke, Brendon Parfit, Josh Rotham, Brad Sheer, William Drew, Jack Graham or Zac Fisher. Based on the academy picks, our pick 34 is likely to be between 36 and 38. If we take Berry, I would pass on Rotham. I like Clarke and Fisher (probably because I have seen more of them) - I would be very happy with an inside mid like Jack Graham.
The kid can play, his height and weight are irrelevant. Gov is a jelly donut who is an AA monster.
None of the mocks have him going anywhere near that highLiam Ryan ? is he worth pick 34
wow this is a good draftNone of the mocks have him going anywhere near that high

I don't see it, much of a muchness at this point.I'll try and look at it positively. Petrie is possibly a mild upgrade on McInnes
I agree,I wasn't saying he wasn't worth it,on talent alone he is but talent isn't the only factor. Now while this is very true i'm a firm believer that a lot of clubs recruiters are altogether too smart for their own good (Well at least they think they are)
If you identify someone who can fill a role within your best 22 both straight away and 5 years down the track they are absolutely worth a second round pick. Our second round pick will end up likely being around pick 36 and could be as late as pick 40. Now up until 2010 that would have been an early to mid third rounder. Third rounders have a 25% chance or less of playing 100 games for an afl club. If you evaluate all that evidence together then i would be happy to do a hawthorn, identify the best player that fills the role you need and take him, even if it means you go a little early.
(now thats no guarantee he is the best player for that role either but it's just an example)
Petrie?Has garrick weedon written all over him
Don't really get that comparison at all, Weedon didn't make it due to lack of talent/production and Ryan has already proven himself at that level.Has garrick weedon written all over him
Has garrick weedon written all over him
Hope we pick a crumber but history suggests we won't
Isn't that Petrie's role?Hasn't Simmo said this year we will target a small, crumbing forward? It wasn't Ballas through the trade period so there's not many other options.
It's really love to scrub that name from this board permanently.Isn't that Petrie's role?
