So does O'Meara go to the ND or the PSD if the trade doesn't go through? I thought it was the ND but people keep talking about him getting picked up in the PSD.

If GC accept pick 10 and AhChee (say Hawthorn give us pick 48 to enable this) for O'Meara, then why the hell weren't we busting our gut to get O'Meara for 9 and AhChee?

Salary cap?

Injury concerns?

O'Meara prefers Hawthorn over Ports?

can't go PSD because he physically won't get past essendon.
How does that work?

Edit: I have read conflicting media reports, some say he must go into the PSD and others saying he can go in the ND

In the collingwood final in 03 he was tackled by a pies player and said to the player "why are you tackling me, im going to be playing with you next year" apparently it filtered through the group and he was essentially dead to them at that point.

Ok so it looks like you only go to the PSD if you don't get picked in the ND, or if you are delisted after the ND.
Given that O'Meara is out of contract now, he has to go through the ND not the PSD. Therefore this idea that Essendon hold the great trump card is incorrect.

I think JOM is a massive risk.

Wasn't he 2 years out with knee?

I did the stats based only on his games as ruck.

He averaged 8 clr 7 tkls and 18 posessions In his ruck games no other ruckmen got near these numbers as a whole granted he lost in taps. Inconsistent yes but what do you expect given the circumstances.

The fact he even had 2 games with 13 and 15 clearances is enough to convince me its enough to persist with. We were all shitting bricks about Lobbe and his tackles in 2014.

Getting touched up by Max Gawn in your make shift role as ruck in your first year there is no shame in that. As you stated he smashed Goldstein etc..

What he produced would have at least 14 other teams salivating at the prospect of what he can achieve with a preseason rucking plus a ruck coach not to mention a fresh Paddy as his wingman. The other 3 teams have Goldstien Nic Nat and Gawn.

His ruck performance this season went fairly unoticed and I thank god that it has been criminally underrated.

If he can learn the art of rucking and tapping he would average the AFL's version of a tripple Double.

Where did you get your clearance stats from?? Lobbe was the ruckmen from rds 1 to 5 and 21 to 23 and Jacko was suspended for Rd 6 and Howard rucked so Jack was the main ruckman between rds 7 to rd 20 ie 13 games as the bye was in that batch of games. He got 93 clearances for the year 8 when he wasnt the main man and 85 in 13 games is an average of 6.5 and closer to what the best ruckmen get rather than be a ruck clearance machine. he got 8 or more clearances in rd 7-13, rd 12 -8, rd 18 -9 and rd 19-15. PSD is a seperate entity. for players under 18, they can't opt to go to the PSD for players on lists they can.

Not quite:

AFL Draft Booklet
If I did not nominate for the NAB AFL Draft in November, can I then nominate for the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft?
No, because part of the eligibility criteria for the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft is that a player must have been eligible for, but not selected at, the NAB AFL Draft. The only exception is a player who has been delisted from the Primary List by an AFL Club, who can stipulate if their nomination form is to be held over for the Pre-Season Draft.

Melbourne being "aggressive" at the table. P Cripps and C Davies should take notes on how to be aggressive at the table.
Agree. When I got your answer to my post I was about to edit that we would get our pants pulled down if we tried that trade. Our entire recruiting staff should be renamed Roger.:p
