I don't even know who's in our team anymore. Give me some time.
Will feel a bit like your typical Sydney fan at first.

"Ohhh good play by... the... um.. number 2 there."

I look more at whao's still getting a game to rate whether we've improved.
If Rowe,ARmfield (though I love his effort) TUtt,Whiley, Holman, White, Warnock are still getting a game, we're going no where.
I think this time we have legitimate upgrades on all those guys.
Actually optimistic about 2016. Don't think it will be as bad as many predict

Think he will be a permanent Blackman though.

So what you reckon is that a guy who in 2011 thrashed Ryder and Hille in a first elimination final and the next week held his own (but was beaten) against Cox and Nit Nat and is even now only 28 is so washed up that we couldn't even offer him to any other Club whilst no hopers like Currie/Phillips/Giles have all found new homes? Really?
The Answer to that is simple.. No one inquired about him in 2 weeks of trade week..despite him being out of contract.

Looking at all these teams I think we need to find an ex AFL key forward in the PSD. Cas and jaksch will struggle as the two main forwards. Need Bolton to work miracles with Jones or to get in a forward like Mitch brown (ex-Geelong). Worth a punt I reckon..will fill a hole and we lose nothing whilst SOSOS and foster develop in the 2s.

I've really got no idea but because it's fun, here goes!

B: Sheehan Jamison Plowman
HB: Docherty Weitering Touhy
C: Buckley Cripps Simpson
HF: Everitt Jaksch Byrne
F: Sumner Casboult Thomas
OB: Kreuzer Murphy Gibbs
IC: E. Curnow Graham Kerridge Phillips
EM: Walker Lamb Boekhorst Armfield

Charlie Curnow will play games

First year players to come in.
Hoping some of our second year players come on, Foster, Viojo-Rainbow, Smith, Walsh etc.
Holman, Whiley, White, Rowe, Dick, Tutt and the emergencies will be main backup reserves.
Silvagni may play a bit of senior footy.

Our best team looks pretty good. Problem is depth and quality. When you don't have depth injuries really hurt. When you don't have depth you get more injuries because your better player are worked/pushed harder. Double edged sword we've face for the last 15 years.

Modern day footy has killed ruck work, hit outs are almost irrelevant these days. The only rucks that have any impact on games are either good around the ground or handy marking forwards.

You must have missed the 2015 finals series. It's no coincidence that the 3 best ruckman all made prelims; NicNat, Goldstein and Sandilands.

B: Tuohy, Jamison, Weitering
HB: Simpson, Plowman, Byrne
C: Docherty, Cripps, Murphy
Foll: Kreuzer, Gibbs, Curnow

Int: Kerridge, Graham, Boekhorst, Buckley

Unlucky: Sheehan, White, Sumner,

HF: Thomas, Casboult, Walker
F: Everitt, Jaksch, Lamb
R: Kreuzer, Cripps, Murphy

INT: Curnow, Kerridge, Graham, Sumner
great team, only worry is we maybe a little short, maybe Byrne or white in for sumner or lamb

Lets not put too much pressure on Weitering.
I doubt he'd play early on next season.

I bet he does, very talented. Could play on a wing or pocket rather than CHB. Plenty of sides who's second tall forward isn't overly good. I think we'll see a bit of him. He'll get a good taste of it. Just hope Jamison can hold up to take on the big established guys.

Best 22 looks somewhat skinny...............but also largely unknown.
There are several that with a good pre-season behind them can really come on but fir now:

Simpson Jamison Weitering
Byrne Rowe Tuohy
Boekhorst Gibbs Docherty
Everitt Jaksch Thomas
Graham Casboult Walker

Kreuzer Cripps Murphy

Buckley Curnow Kerridge Plowman

It's really too hard to forecast just yet......Smith, Sheehan, DVR, White, Holman, White, Lamb, Sumner and Whiley could all be staking a claim.

Any team without Rowe in it is seriously under valuing him as a player. As someone who played 250+ games as a FUB it's probably the toughest position to play on the ground when your team isn't performing well. Rowe has the tools to be a decent FUB for a few years yet and has done a pretty good job imo in the short time we've thrown him back there.

His true worth would be seen once we had a midfield that didn't leave him exposed so often in one on one contests that make it nigh on impossible for any defender to beat their man with the ball coming in so fast and so often.

Rowe will be better as well when we actually have some other leadership on the field. He's not good enough to be a backline general while maintaining his own game, there were times this year after the fellow leaders squibbed it where he just looked overwhelmed.

Agree with you both.

I think where Rowe lacks skill he makes up for sheer competitiveness and obviously hates being beaten. His best is actually pretty good, we've seen him win multiple one on ones after another with some very good forwards and play a huge role given the likes of Jamo aren't always on the field (or playing with one arm). His worst however can be pretty darn bad.

The key with Rowe I think is minimizing the gap between his best and worst. As it's been said, some good support and structure will go some way to helping with that.
