For me I have it something like this

Pavlich - Retire
De Boer - Delist / Unrestricted Free Agent (Don't Sign)
C. Pearce - Sign / Unrestricted Free Agent (Don't Sign)
Silvagni - Trade
Hannath - Sign / Trade
Mzungu - Delist
Apeness - Sign
Clarke - Unrestricted Free Agent (Don't Sign)
Barlow - Sign
Mayne - Unrestricted Free Agent (Don't Sign)
Langdon - Sign / Trade
Grey - Sign
Hurley - Sign (Upgrade)
Morabito - Sign

I think that we need to draft a new Ruck. Play Sandi, Griff and a pinch hitting Apeness or Smith whilst the youngster comes on. I realise that we would need to cover three years not 1 but I would rather get young fresh talent in than persist with Clarke who is on the wrong side of 25. In this scenario holding onto Hannath makes sense and I regard it as more than likely.

Of the 14 listed players above I regard it as unlikely to move more than 6 there just isn't the depth in this years draft. Consequently the above list has more resigns than many others. The down side is that most of the "cut" players are UFA so that limits us at the trade table. For this reason I regard the chances of trading Langdon as high.

I heard that Silvagni is in partnership with Morabito and Morabito's girlfriend in some sort of insurance business. That's why Morabito is retiring at the end of the season and going to Sydney for a job, to do with business and Silvagni is also going with him and he will also be gone at seasons end.

I've heard six of our players are leaving to join the circus at the end of the season. Ibbotson the tightrope walker, Spurr on the trapeze, Sutcliffe the knife thrower, Ballas the lion tamer, Dawson in a slapstick clown/strong man double act, and Blakely the bearded lady.

Apparently West Coast are also losing Shuey as a low diver, and Darling as an acrobat/limbo champion.

Goodbye cruel world.

of all that list. Pav, Mzungu and Mayne are certainly gone. I for one will be dissapointed if clancee pearce is gone as i like him.

As crap as we are now. It would be stupid to cut 8-9 players in the main squad like in 2008. This draft isnt a strong draft.

If ballantyne gets traded as the rumours been spreaded and we get a compo pick, 5-6 picks in the ND sounds right.

Last year everyone was saying that this draft was a strong one when comparing the two so i'm not sure about it being weak.
I think this years draft is strong for midfielders and weaker on KPP talent but its probably no weaker then any other draft.

For me I have it something like this

(1) Pavlich - Retire
(2) De Boer - UFA / Delist
C. Pearce - Sign / UFA (Don't Sign)
(3) Silvagni - Trade / Delist
(4) Hannath - Trade / Delist
(5) Mzungu - Delist
Apeness - Already signed
Clarke - Sign (ony cos we are desperate)
Barlow - Sign / Trade
(6) Mayne - Unrestricted Free Agent (Don't Sign)
(7) Langdon - Sign / Trade (sounds like he is gone)
(8) Grey - Delist
(9) Morabito - Sign / Delist (sounds like he is gone)
(10) Ballantyne - Trade
(11) Suban - Trade (while he has trade value)

That makes 11 maybe a couple more if Clarke and Clancee get sent packing. Langdon is the only one I'd be disappointed about losing. If the price was there I would trade Barlow as well.

I don't agree with delisting Grey, the kid has got plenty of heart and courage, there's a lot more improvement to be had. I'd definitely keep him

Getting a KPP early (Marshall) and a ruck prospect later works. There seems to be decent midfield talent until quite late in the draft. I also like some of the running defenders with decent disposal. Quite happy to bat deep in this draft.

Isnt grey best mates with alex pearce? They were recruited from the same club in tassie.

Imagine getting marshall at pick 3 then trade our 2017 second rounder to get mccarthy then get mason shaw and darcy cameron as later picks?

how many forwards do we need?

Pavlich obviously will retire.

I'd sign Barlow and like to keep Silvagni, making KPD a no-need this year.

Morabito: Hard decision, reason says he is gone at AFL level, my heart want to keep him and hope for a miracle...

Rucks are a problem, Hannath and Clarke both look average, evne when Clarke has/had potential. But we probably need to keep one since it looks likely next year will be Sandi and Griff's last. I'd keep Clarke unless we can get something decent for him, then keep Hannath.

All others on the above list (without Apeness, he is a keeper): Trade when we can get something, delist/free agent a few, so we can insert enough new blood. Really not matters that much who. Probably will keep at least one of DeBoer/Suban/Clancee/Mayne, and I don't mind it whoever it is (all seem to be good clubmen). But need to insert fresh blood to hopefuly improve as well.

I'd keep Langdon as well, unless he want to go, don't know too much about Grey without seeing WAFL games or training actually...

Ballanytne is a strange case as well. When he want to go, we should let him go. But that is based on his average recent form and based on the same I can't see much interest from other clubs either...

Probably need to open up to 7 spots on our list with it. 1 trade, 1 free agent, up to 5 draft picks. Can see us get much more opportunity to insert quality ( or at least a change for quality).

For mine, as many as we need to find an elite one :p. But seriously, if we assumed we had the right balance on the list now, in terms of forwards out and in, some rough ideas below:

1.Pavlich - Todd Marshall (Early pick - NSW) or Tim English (Early pick - WA) or Jesse Hogan (Trade)
2. Mayne - Cam McCarthy (Trade) or Cameron Zurhaar (mid range pick - East Fremantle) or Shane Kersten (Trade)
3. Hannath - Rhys Stanley (Trade) or Darcy Cameron (Rookie Claremont) or Luke Strnadica (Rookie East Freo) or Mason Shaw (Rookie East Fremantle)
4. Ballantyne - retain Ballantyne or Brendan Parfitts (midrange pick NT) or Liam Ryan (Late pick Subiaco) or Tyson Stengle (late pick SA) or Kym DeBois (Late pick SA)
5. Deluca - Noah Hura (Rookie Peel)

If you saw Mason Shaw play you wouldnt be putting his name up. I saw him play against Swans and South a couple of weeks ago and for a guy who was in the system at Port for 3 years albeit he had injury interrupted years he doesn't look or play like a AFL prospect. We would be far better considering getting Tim English to develop as Sandi's replacement in a couple of years. By the way in todays game Peel v Claremont Sam Collins totally shut Cameron out of the game.

Is it injury insurance?

My take on the list of names from above. That shows 9 to be moved on, that is enough for one season. Wouldn't mind keeping Langdon but don't think he will be a world beater, see him as behind Weller, Croz, Tucker, Blakely and could use the draft pick we could get.
Need to keep our older players but only on short term deals, Sam Mitchell just signed his 6th one year contract and is 33 so he started that at 28!
Only look to trade Barlow as I think we need the draft picks although I hope we keep him. Not sure we'll get anything for Suban and I don't think we deserve anything for Mayne, so Barlow may need to go if we need the pick to regenerate the list with some younger players.

(1) Pavlich - Retire
De Boer - Keep 1 yr
(2) C. Pearce - Delist, sorry Clancee but just havn't been close enough to a game this year.
Silvagni - Keep 1 yr
(3) Hannath - Delist (no trade value)
(4) Mzungu - Delist, thanks for your service.
Apeness - Already signed
Clarke - Sign (ony cos we are desperate)
Barlow - Sign 1 yr/ Trade
(5) Mayne - Unrestricted Free Agent (Don't Sign)
(6) Langdon - Sign / Trade (sounds like he is gone)
(7) Grey - Delist, hasn't really had a shot but don't think he can kick well enough.
Morabito - Keep 1 yr - one more shot please, he has played a good run of games this year and has the ability to make it.
(8) Ballantyne - Sign 1 yr/ Trade
(9) Suban - Trade (while he has trade value)
