And the fact we automatically assumed that he calls himself The List Manager ironically.
Unintentional irony? Seems like a self-help book style "if you believe it, it'll come true" attempt at self-affirmation to me. Something out of The Secret, or something about the power of positive thinking... I get this mental image of Terry sitting in the corner rocking back and forth chanting to himself: "They're laughing with you... They're laughing with you... They're laughing with you..."

I like the fact that Venables is only now just turing 18.. Most of the players in the draft will have spent this year playing as 18 year olds. It's a big factor to take into account.
Really interesting that many of the tougher and often better young players are born later in the year, meaning they generally play against older kids growing up and in the development leagues, even if it is only a year difference. Seems to matter in terms of development.

Okay for me:

Best case

Pick 3 - Ainsworth (more than happy with McCluggage)
Pick 16 - Simpkin (happy to take Berry and if we ended up with Marshall I can live with that)
Pick 21 - SPP (Bolton and Rotham would be fine as well)
Pick 22 - Parfitt - cmon Canole you can do it.
Match on Allison and Watson

Worst case

Pick 3 - Bowes
Pick 16 - Venables
Pick 21 - Ridley
Pick 22 - Drew
Pass on Allison and Watson
Would English make it onto your worst case list?

I reckon Port or North are the clubs that got Battle invited to draft night IMO.
Only possible top 10 players get invited, I think. I imagine they only ask clubs with top 10 picks who they might draft.

Well that's interesting. I can't see GWS picking Battle. Essendon and Lions no chance as well. Swans won't make any sense to trade up to select someone who most thought would be taken in the mid to late teens at the earliest. Only leaves Suns who could be a chance IMO or the Blues who wool be keen but for pick 5? Not sure.

My two Bobs worth:

Best Case

Pick 3 - Ainsworth (McCluggage)
Pick 16 - Simpkin (Logue)
Pick 21 - Clarke
Pick 22 - Williams
Match on Allison and Watson

Worst case

Pick 3 - Bowes
Pick 16 - English
Pick 21 - Battle
Pick 22 - Scharenberg
Pass on Allison and Watson and bring in two mature age plonkers

If Gold Coast matches Bowes at #1, and no bids come in on GWS players in that range, then North would wind up taking pick 10. That's a fairly unlikely scenario, though.

Best Case

Pick 3 - McLuggage
Pick 16 - Simpkin
Pick 21 - Berry
Pick 22 - Venables
Match on Allison and Watson

This is a pretty great scenario for us. Not sold on Venables, a guy averaging 13 touches a game... That being said has come back from a pretty serious injury and is a bottom-ager.

I know Ainsworth has indicated he would love to play with us, but if McLuggage is still there we would be absolutely crazy not to take him imo

Best Case

Pick 3 - McLuggage
Pick 16 - Florent
Pick 21 - Simpkin
Pick 22 - Berry

can i join in this realistic best/worst hypothetical.

best case-
3- Hugh McCluggage
16- Jarrod Berry
21- Jy Simpkin
22- Sam Powell-Pepper

match- Allison and Watson

worst case-
3- Jack Bowes
16- Daniel Venables
21- Luke Ryan
22- Dylan Clarke

Allison and Watson both bid on at 23 and 24, too match or pass???

I like this better, though Florent likely to not be selected by a non-vic club due to losing his father in August. It's unfortunate because a gun outside mid would be brilliant for us

If Allison and Watson are bid on at 23/24 either take one or pass, as we would go into a pretty big points deficit with both. Allison looks a great kick, but didn't show much else. Watson looks a pretty solud defender

I get that Venables moves nicely and has a great burst of speed/attack on the footy but would we be talking about him this highly if he hadn't have had a good finish to the Vic Country game in the champs? I feel like his entire value is inflated based on a couple of minutes. As mentioned earlier this is a guy that averaged 13 touches...

I think a few of the lower possession players will surprise at their AFL clubs. I view this draft as mid stacked which means some mids have to play fringe roles they normally wouldnt which then leads to low numbers. Florent is a classic example of this, as he really wasnt that productive all year but come the All staars game with guys like Setterfield out he got a chance in the guts and did amzing. Now everyone forgets he wasnt that productive

yep, thinking about it a bit more if one or both is bid on very high eg.23-25 we would have no option other than to match at least one of them, if we passed our next live pick would be in the 70s, would only be left with scraps too choose from in that area of the draft.

What's with this Archie elevation thing? Has he already been elevated or is this done on draft night?
