One player whose barely been mentioned on here if at all who I don't mind is Jarryd's younger brother Corey Lyons. Really good user of the footy.

Also more of an option for us given his brother has gone up north.

How do you see McCluggage Len? He could be a chance to be available at 3 if McGrath and Ainsworth are snapped up.

Its a bit of an unsolvable puzzle S.Z I watched the Nationals with the perspective that we needed players who were matchwinners.That is , who could win contests, give direction and leadership, and were skilful ,pressure performance types . McGrath , McCluggage and Ainsworth were the stand outs in these aspects , though they had different emphases in these areas.Any one of these boys will be great,but Ainsworth I see as being more closely alligned to our immediate needs,and I particularly like that he already has a playing and coaching relationship with some staff and players. I think it would help Schache s confidence a lot to have Ainsworth and Mathieson around him for example.

I'm warming to the idea of adding Dylan Clarke as an inside midfielder. He isn't someone I've actually given much thought to. He is a strong tackler, he has really clean hands and he is an elite handballer. He can take a strong mark as well and obviously wins the contested footy and wins clearances. It is just his disposal by foot which tends to let him down. A real competitive player who would work well with Matho.

Yeah posted it a few times, but it's hard to keep track of everyone's picks/views.

At 3 I hope for Ainsworth.

At 17 (16 gets pushed back one spot) I just don't see Berry or Florent being available, so would go Witherden (though would be cool with Simpkin).

At 22 & 23 (Both picks get pushed back one, maybe even two spots due to GWS/GC academy bids) Dylan Clarke is definitely one of my picks, and barring a slider, I'd have to go with SPP.

Yeah, I'm not sure Berry gets past GC and North Melbourne. If he does, I'd definitely grab Berry, and hope Witherden slides down to our next pick.

Would be my number 1 preference at pick 16 but I'd say there is zero chance he gets to that point now. Looking likely he will go as high as pick 9 to the Swans.

I'm more interested in ground coverage rather than out and out pace. You can't play footy with a limited engine these days and I think you ideally should be able to cruise for long periods at a reasonable speed.

Is it only me that thinks we need a KPD? Not many others have us taking one with our 4 picks, from my view our KPD stocks look pretty bare.

Perhaps our recruiters rate next year's batch of KPD's higher than this year's and are prepared to wait a year in order to get better quality. It's one thing to identify a need but it's also another to identify which future draft will best fill that need. These guys are tracking players and looking ahead 3 drafts.

A mature KPD is a hole in our list. Not something we can fix with the draft unfortunately. With Skinner, Andrews, McStay, Gardiner and Watson we have some good future options, they'll just take time. Hopefully Frost can play a solid C grade nullifying role for a few years.

Agree. It's rare that a KPD comes in from the draft and can fill that role effectively in the seniors straight away. We need someone ready to go to take Merrett's (and Clarke's) spot ... that's not going to be an 18 year old kid taken in this draft. We have Frost and if the club is happy for him to play that role until others develop then great, however if they still think we are short then perhaps it's off to the PSD to pick up someone like Grimes or Silvagni (providing a list spot is available).
