See what you mean. LOL.
Might know something about drafting. But very little about the tigers. He didn't notice Caddy or Nankervis. Doesn't know of any good young players. And obviously sees Yarran as gone, and didn't notice Short, K Mac, Menadue, Markov. Oh well, 0 / 5 is OK.
Although saying you need quality youth is sort of like saying you need food. Goes without saying.
Richmond
List needs
1. Quality youth - (Richmond have been competitive on the back of their 25-and-overs. They will need to draft very well over future seasons to not fall down to the bottom of the ladder over coming seasons)
2. Star power through midfield - (Dion Prestia is a good addition and Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin are the driving forces through the midfield. More high-end midfielders will be required for Richmond to take the next step)
3. An immediate ruckman - (with Ivan Maric declining, Shaun Hampton ineffective around the ground and Ivan Soldo and Mabior Chol development projects, Richmond need another ruckman who can contribute now and potentially take over from Hampton as the club's best ruckman)
4. Young star key forward to succeed Jack Riewoldt - (with Riewoldt 28 and key forwards generally taking around four seasons to develop into consistent AFL standard performers, this year or next year is the time to find the next key forward to build around)
5. Quality young general defenders - (Richmond have some components down back but ultimately after Bachar Houli, 28, lack a second, high-quality small or medium defender)
Draft picks: 27, 56, 82, 100, 118, 136
Who should they draft?
Isaac Cumming from the GWS Academy would be a suitable list fit at No. 27 as a back flanker who can provide run from defence but also use the ball cleanly and make good decisions.
Richmond late in the national draft or in the rookie draft would also be advised to take one of Rowan Marshall, Darcy Cameron or Oscar McInerney to improve the club's ruck stocks.
Sorry I disagree. Hampson has more than a year to go, whilst I also believe that Soldo is coming along nicely. Then you have Nankervis, who may become the number 1 ruck when Hampson goes. Maric is a coach now. You cant have too many rucks on the list, as they then done get much of a run. As it is, we will have 3 rucks in the 2's. Maybe you might carry him for the year, but not now we got Nankervis.Hampson & Maric are not the future and possibly both have just 1 more year left
Nankervis is a good step in the right direction but Soldo is still probably only 20-30% chance to make it so we really do need to have another developing Ruck and Cameron would be a perfect choice with already having 3 years at WAFL level and really showing great signs both in the Ruck and as a Foward as well as being an extremely mobile player
Nankervis,Cameron,Soldo all developing at the same time gives us a shot at uncovering a good ruckman on the Cheap

I wouldn't mind it if we got him as we a probably still could do with another insider, but i reckon someone better will slide to our pick.Clark didn't impress me much, just get it and kick it. Very inside, and potentially one dimensional.

Sort of reminded me of Cotchin with the get it and kick it.Clark didn't impress me much, just get it and kick it. Very inside, and potentially one dimensional.
Glad it wasn't just me who felt that way. I'm really hoping SPP slides far enough.Clark didn't impress me much, just get it and kick it. Very inside, and potentially one dimensional.
100%. I'm all for contested hard players, while I don't think we've drafted necessarily soft players the end result has been that we are a soft side bar the odd player as there is a sameness in temperament across out team. Big and tough or quick and tough, these guys are the kind of players that turn finals. With the chances of SPP and Venables being already gone Clarke is the kid I want. As I stated earlier not overly fussed about his DE% by foot as it is clearly hampered by winning so much contested ball and having to hack it out of the pack, rather than being a poor kick.
For mine another inside bull who can help getting the ball heading our way will be massive especially if it allows Dusty and Cotchin to be used outside more.
In one off season we could have overhauled our midfield and set ourselves up for the next 5-7 years.
Off topic but your avatar is a tad redundant now.Hey guys, wasn't sure where to post this but any of you interested in joining a trade game? https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/snakes-trading-game.1151738/ PM if you want more info.
am all for an inside mid at the Draft & hope that is the way we go, as far as clearances go it's Miles & Cotchin then daylight, we have added Prestia/Caddy to add to this area & we can do a lot worse than to add another 1 or 2 in the Draft. Clarke has a high CP % (around 50%) so that would explain the kicking issue. Clarke also ave 7 tackles a game this yr as well, which also addresses a major weakness of ours.100%. That would be nice, but I he has to be overlooked for us have dibs on him as a Cat B rookie.on Draft machine Clarke is listed as 30-late.
Kirby not listed, has he not nominated for the Draft & coming to us as a cat B?
According to the draft machine, we could haveon Draft machine Clarke is listed as 30-late.

Yes, but we tend to be fairly set with out first pick. Vlaustuin over Grundy, shows that we are fairly firm in our thinking pre-draft.There is always a massive slider every year and will be again this year, Lets just say that its Todd Marshall & There are the usuall names still on the Board - Would you like Marshall at Richmond ?
Kid does remind me a little Jack Riewold like

Being such a bunch of good campaigners we've let him have one last draft.FJ is no longer incharge![]()
He can read out the name on the paper,But cant be allowed to write that name on it.Being such a bunch of good campaigners we've let him have one last draft.
