So wasn't Wayne a big push for Veneables and not English? That's awkward

Venables could be a very, very good player if he can get over his persistent injuries that have troubled him big time over the last 2 seasons, that, and his tendency to go missing too often in games. The raw talents there so I wouldn't be discounting his chances to go 1st round at all. English I really hope we don't take him too, heap of talls that project well in next year's draft. IMO Marshall >>>English long term.

I watched some vision of him and really like his attack on the ball, a while ago someone on here mentioned that we were checking him out at a Ballarat game? Said we appeared keen. (he hasn't played a lot of footy, you mean like Charlie?)

Halls creek is a far regional community so basically untapped in some ways despite plenty of footy

You could say the same of Gallucci .....but both he and Hayward are part of the 18 going to Sydney as potential top 10 selections

Just a qualifier on our need for an inside midfielder .....it is not a slow inside mid, which is why i am slightly puzzled that people have us bidding on Perryman ??

Perryman is a bit unique in that he can play a Rory Laird like role and also play forward and is a very skilled player and not just an inside bull

I see Will Brodie as being a brute of a midfielder, in the same mold as Josh Kennedy. If he lasts till our pick I'd be very satisfied.

I think they are just trying to cover top 10 and so far 18 are going !! Which means at least one of GC Syd and Freo are interested in Battle

Let's hope they pick Battle, English and Logue and we have a choice between a few

Midfield scope IMO and he's far better overhead than stringer and not as powerful at this stage but some similarities

Looks like a best case scenario. Brodie, Venables, Berry and Hayward all available. Just pick the one we want the most.
Can't imagine the melts though, if we have all those guys on the board and we pick a Cedric Cox type.

Hayward has developed really well as a forward this year, but has played almost all his junior footy as a midfielder. He was superb when in rotation with McCluggage, Bolton and Gallucci through the mid in the All-Stars game. Massive ceiling, and a Crows fan.

I thought he was great in that all star game up in midfield also and has nice awareness in traffic and can tackle

Just needs to get in the system and learn to believe how far he could go and could be anything

Essendons 2nd round
