OK I get it, only trying to be helpful FFS.

Makes sense SA would be behind the times.....;)
We're gonna party like it's 1997

Everything you want to know about Cedric Cox hot from the Ballarat Rebels Draft Preview including not seen before footage and interviews with him and coach Gerard Fitzgerald and Talent Manager Phil Partington on his character and football attributes..

I wouldn't consider Scrimshaw a Backmen in the Lever sense . He's more a playmaker that is stationed at half back and he will push up the ground as time goes by, I've even seen him play very well forward

I don't know how to say it, I guess I'm just finding it hard to envisage where I see someone like him playing in our current set up. If he develops into a Pendles type tall inside mid with very good skills then yeah sure I would as keen as ever to take him, but I'm also not sure he makes it to our pick regardless anyway.

Always room for class and would enhance our transition game and take a lot of pressure off Brodie Smith

Apparently we do have some interest in Hayward ( thankfully ) so add him to the pile

We are linked to everyone !!!

Wonder what we think of Brodie

So I think what we need is a super super athletic inside/outside mid, with at least decent skills and nous. Not sure any of the options most discussed on here fit the bill. Or am I missing something?

You're missing plenty, Jarrod Berry, Daniel Venables, Oliver Florent , Sam Powell Pepper even Will Brodie and Jordan Galluci offer that to a lesser extent. Then there's players like Will Hayward, Alex Witherden and Jy Simpkin who can likely be developed in that regard. Will Brodie if still there will be hard to pass up.

Yeah thanks mate, except for the fact that I'm very sure I'm accurate

did a bit of digging and you're recollection is fallacious.

Even the phantom's the day before don't have him going to us.

Not linked to us. Suggest North Melbourne (#21) or Freo.

it's just not true to say he was predicted to go to us. I recall, if memory serves, a whisper immediately before the draft, maybe even same day, with the idea that #16 might be so high that GWS wouldn't match.

Interesting you mentioned Venables - I mentioned in another post I thought venables reminded me of Parker a lot. Chance he would still be there at #19 so Brodie and Venables would be a great combo to get. Dont forget Venables can also be that forward Hayward could be.

Thanks for the above. I've also felt (and I stand corrected0 Cunningham goes missing or makes some poor decisions in big games. Is that fair?

Pretty sure there was a whisper from Emma Quayle a day or two before the draft that we showed interest in Himmelberg but we had picks that were too early or something to that effect. It certainly wasn't a week out.

Yeah I'm certain I heard the same, in fact I remember checking out one of his videos as a result to see why we might be interested.

It was definitely last minute stuff. For example that mock from Emma Quayle was published the day before the draft and there was no mention then.

It's pretty clear that we didn't expect GWS to match either. Annoyingly he's looked imperious at CHB this year, would have been a great get.

Between himmelberg and Doedee is plain to see that nobodies really knows what the club is thinking beforehand.

Tend to be right more often than not these days too

There was most definitely talk of us bidding on Himmelberg last year. Without question.
