With Lobb staying put here, Hogan signing on to stay at Melbourne, and Pav gone, you'd think there's now going to be a massive weight on McCarthy's shoulders over the next few years at Freo. Will be interesting to see how they manage that pressure given his mental health history.
I'm not sold on this trying to get pick 1 to get McGrath story- I mean there is every likelihood if we have pick 5 he will still be there in such an even draft
I prefer to think we are scoping out pick 1 in order to land a marquee player and that's the asking price from the club in question. Such a better story anyhow

For those who had doubts about Tomlinson - his manager just said on trade radio that Tomlinson was 100% staying at the Giants.
According to the so call draft experts in Cal Twomey and Brett Anderson McGrath is a clear top 2 pick now
Also think it's safe to say any guys the club views as best 22 won't be going anywhere

* Will Hoskin-Elliott probably going to Collingwood maybe for their 2nd rounder
* Marchbank most likely going for Carlton's pick 5. Deal will involve us giving a further pick but will not be pick 7. Most likely 15 or 16.
* We are interested in potentially trading up if we secure pick 5 and potentially getting pick 1 but realistic Essendon probably holds it.
*Patfull staying is in his hands
*Steele could still stay
*We aren't looking to bolster squad with senior players
*We are happy with defensive stock
*We are open to trading Jarrod Pickett but no bites from anyone yet.
