Corr shouldn't be playing on the bigger forwards.

Corr might not have been up to it but he's one of the KPDs we have with the body to bulk up and take those jobs.

He will never be big enough to play on the big kpf's.
I think he tall enough and has the frame. Agree with Raymann that he looks to have bulked up a little during his rehab. He has taken a seat near us during Spotless games and he has size. Hoping he hasn't lost his speed.

I'm of the generation that has an inbuilt preference for big tough defenders like Tim Mohr but I also get todays defenders tend to be more mobile.
He was looking really gòod after building up in the off season before his injury in round three. For the remainder of this year I think we have wait and see, he has missed a lot of footy.
It does seem to me he competes with Davis, Buntine, Mohr and Patful for two and possibly three close key defender spots. Haynes and Himmelburg play more as loose talls.
There room to mix and match but there have to be spots for Heater and Wilson in the back 6-7. We also have to fit in Williams, Kelly, among the Outside mids somehow if there's no back slot available.
Gotta feel for Kenners trying to find a spot as well.

Hearing tigers are a bit interested in Downie, has he been developing well?

Downie is an interesting one. Been with us since the 2012 draft, which is a long time to only play 9 games. I know big men take longer, but that's pretty long. Has had patches of what could be considered real potential and did OK when Mummy went down without ever stamping himself last year, but Lobb went past him like a bullet train this year (and Flynn, behind, is more in the Lobb mould - I like Flynn)

He certainly hasn't been horrible - he's still on our list after all and played against Essendon ahead of Simpson

But I don't think he'll ever be more than depth here - could he be more elsewhere? No idea, different coach, different environment.....

would he be good depth and/or cover elsewhere, if that's what you need/are looking for - definitely.

Wouldn't cost much either. I think he would go with blessings and good wishes.

In looking at the luxury of who is available for selection this week, I'm thinking more and more that WHE will be playing elsewhere next year. When fit he's an obvious selection but so are a heap of others of similar age and experience. He is valuable cover as an outside mid/forward but he costs too much to play NEAFL.

Increasingly I feel that WHE's future is linked to Stevie J. If he plays an extra year then we lose the flexibility of his forward spot. Take out Stevie and you can put WHE (also Steele and Palmer) back into realistic regular best 22 game time. With him it's harder for a more offensive player to break in; unless Dev or Toby share the defensive forward role, allowing for Reid to drop back as cover and another forward to come in.

As the player likely to be on the highest salary, WHE would probably need to be first to go. Steele, while a loss, is out of contract and would not be on WHE's money. I'm sure that some clubs would gladly take him. Sad thing is, he's someone we don't want to let go.

As much as I love WHE. We need to let him go and cash in while he is still carrying his potential price tag. Our untouchables are the core and he isn't in it. Given our list and cap squeeze I see him as expendable. We still have Pickett on the list and have spargo coming in.
