The awesome concession of rod jameson, the only premiership player from the initial team.
yes, because the round 1 1991 team was the entire list.

Firstly Smart played that night. Secondly, Ben Hart was a 16yo on the list, Shaun Rehn, David Pittman, Mark Bickley, Tony Modra, Matthew Robran and Mark Ricciuoto were all part of our start up concessions, which whilst not as good as West Coast's were probably better than Port's.

Well done Power, good to beat Victorian teams at the G ... never easy, doing it without a lot of their quality too.

Geelong at home are like West Coast at home or Hawks at home (or GWS at ahome or GC at home or ...) - very different proposition. Looking forward to testing ourselves down at the Cattery this year.

Hinkley wouldn't know what they have done to get the win, will probably just think his motivational speech was extra good this week. Really just a case of who was less crape on the night. No doubt they are "back" though, again.

How much credit is Koch going to take on Game Day tomorrow though... my money is on all of it.

I've got $1000 on "we played Port Adelaide football and that's why we won."

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but if Kakour had a 6 match suspension how did he play yesterday in round 6.
They counted a preseason game as one of them

Well, not really but your point still stands.

Tony Modra and Mark Ricciuto did not join until 1992 and Matthew Robran actually played for trhe Hawks round 1 1991.

Modra and Roo were zone selections under our entry conditions and we signed Robran as an uncontracted returning player after he stood out for 92 season. Another concession we had

Not really. We traded a pick to the Hawks and they (ironically) used it to pick up Johnathan Robran.

I said it earlier but I'll say it again because it bears repeating.

Port have lost to GWS, Geelong and us.

Hawks have also lost to GWS and Geelong and should have lost to us.

One is a team that is a laughing stock. The other is still favorite to win the flag.

Ignoring the nature of the losses, Port's W-L isn't that bad

Their W/L isn't that bad, but it's round 6 and some teams have played more better teams and some teams have played teams that are shit. Won't have a real idea on where teams sit until round 12-14ish

But it's also the complete lack of effort in Port's losses that would be concerning.....and making them a laughing stock

Hawks are faves on reputation only. Shouldn't have beaten the Dogs or the Saints either, they're not traveling as good as the Vic media would have us believe.

Sydney are the team to beat IMO, have more depth than anyone.

That reputation got them 3 flags in a row and only a fool would write them off.... their record right now is better than it was at the same time last year. They also lost a final and still won the flag.... you can't buy that sort of experience

But also agree that Sydney are the team to beat

Sydney, Roos, Hawks all should be top 4.

WC, Adel, Dogs and GWS fighting it for the 4th spot in the top 4 IMO

Kochie on Gameday talking about their recruiting department when asked about Dixon

"they just have this knack for putting pieces together"
I'm guessing that's the same recruiters who took the 'she'll be right' attitude when they picked at Essendon's carcass? The missing piece which turned out to be the missing link? The final piece of the premiership jigsaw? :D

Yeah, nah. We traded for Robran.

Our next 4 weeks determine our season.

Dogs @ Etihad - they have injuries and we will be battling with them for a Top 4 spot. Won't get them at a better time.
Cats @ home - big game for obvious reasons but another team we will be fighting with for Top 4. Advantage at home.
Suns @ Metricon - obviously this is a must-win if we're anywhere near serious.
GWS @ home - another Top 4 aspirant with huge potential and a massive outside running game similar to us. Advantage at home.

If we want Top 4 - which is the aim, not 7th or whatever - a simple 2-2 split of these games isn't enough. We've gotta go 3-1 or 4-0. Not saying we definitely will, but if we want Top 4 then it's what we need to do.

And i'll be there for the Geelong and GWS games :D So good to be able to say that these days :)
