Heard Graham Cornes say that he crashed into multiple cars while looking for his phone. Spin spin spin Port working overtime to spin this. Happens all the time you know you innocently reach for your phone under the seat in a 40 or 50kmh zone and accidentally write off a few cars. Happens all the time. Then you suddenly find yourself doing the bolt to Grange. Was drinking just before the incident but not smashed. Important difference. Alcohol played no part in the crash or the poor decisions afterwards. Surely no one is dumb enough to believe that. Alcohol is usually behind incidents like this and stupid decisions like leaving the scene of an accident. Pathetic.
That was the excuse buddy came up with, or I think he said he was texting.

Spot on. The club has admitted they spoke with him before midnight and gave him legal advice, and he didn't contact the police until the next day mid morning.

He committed a crime. The club knew he committed a crime. The club knew the police were looking for him. The club advised him not to go to the police.

They either advised him not to or they endorsed his desire not to go. Complicit either way.

If he was going for his phone and crashed then there is an automatic fine. ''Using your phone while driving'' , you don't need to be using it just holding s enough.

They don't think these things through

How convenient. Lots of rumours about drug use by Franklin and a mysterious end to his season that year. Was clearly having issues and that was a big flashing sign that people glossed over with a bit of spin.
Wonder if Impey is having bigger issues as well or whether it was just a drunken stupor when the hierarchy is away the cats will play attitude that caused this.

Just add it to the other charges. Doubt he'll be driving again for quite some time. Gutless individual without the integrity to take responsibility for his actions. Should've stayed at the scene and owned up to his actions and did everything he could to make amends. That's the way to win respect.

Same delusion with the banana thrower after the showdown. They always find a way to defend the indefensible as they believe their club is better than any other. Kool Aid in the tap water.
You realize the kool aid wasn't the problem?

Former Lion Chris Johnson said the 21-year-old has been struggling with the recent death of his father.

While he didn't say it excuses Impey's actions, Johnson said it's hard for non-Indigenous people to understand how difficult that can be.

"A loss in an Indigenous family takes a big toll," Johnson told Sports Today.

"I'm not saying it doesn't take a toll in other cultures, but in Indigenous culture it holds a lot of respect and it can affect you dramatically."
Sounds like some rubbish to me.

Better not dig too deep into the Fabian Francis history either.

Yes or Adam Hueskes and Peter Burgoyne. The police really wanted to charge them and Hueskes felt so guilty about his actions that night he fled to Brisbane. Very grubby. What did the club do about that again?

He was married to a cop at one stage, I refuse to believe he was bad.

Wait, didn't she sell info about witnesses for cases she had access to, to bikies? Whoops.

Yeah but Stiffy Johncock remember. Fair is fair we must admit our faults too lol. Add in the banana thrower and that's One Great Club.

Sounds like some rubbish to me.

A death in any family hits hard. Think that's a bit much to suggest one death is harder than another. The Asian community often have extremely close families.

Sounds like some rubbish to me.

I've had at least half a dozen indigenous workers go to a funeral and not attempt to return to work for a month or so. And we're not necessarily even talking about parents/siblings. The pressure from family is apparently enormous.

Did banana woman ever do her "cultural education"?

Lots os talk about it - wouldn't be surprised if it never happened

Lol, if he was on the phone texting & sober, reckon he would have realised after the 1st prang... but 4 prangs... give me a break, that's completely unbelievable.

Also, why would you then run & hide from Police for over half a day?

Because he was drinking!

Let's cut the crap, there was no extenuating circumstances to this behaviour.

Time to man up & stop the lies & take responsibility.

I'm not doubting that, but it's such a broad statement. I've seen the same from people I work with, everyone deals with it differently, culture plays a part for sure, but I wouldn't suggest that one is effected more or less than the other.

I agree that person by person there's probably no difference in the feelings of grief. But my understanding is that culturally, it's expected that your life is put on hold whike the family finishes with its sorry business. I'm a novice though, only taking an interest to the point of how it affected me.
