Looks like Tomic is set to play two matches today. 10.30am then scheduled to play again after 2pm

Well this tournament looks like it's gonna be tough to finish. I'm 10km or so away and its raining pretty steadily.

If they don't get play today I cannot see how they can complete the mens side of the tournament. Is there an indoor tennis centre anywhere in Sydney that could hold matches?

They had fast4 down the road at Allphones arena, maybe they could try that?

Was about to ask the hypothetical.... What would happen if say the tournament couldn't be finished due to the AO starting Monday? Cancel the tournament? Just void it? No idea would be interesting if it's happened anywhere before

Tomic just said he doesn't care about this tournament more or less.

I'm not upset with what he said. 2 days out from a grand slam and he's only playing the quarter final now. Reality is that this is a small 250 tournament not worth much at all.
True or not this is not the mindset, nor the action of a professional tennis player, much less a top ten player (what he wants to be). What he said may not be upsetting but his actions are extremely disappointing.

And just like that, whatever ounce of respect I had for Tomic is gone.

Pea hearted dickhead.

What happened to Tomic?

Did he see the Aust Open draw and decided to rest? lol

Decided to want to have a sleep! 10:30 is too early lol

Came out looking disinterested. Got into a conversation with the chair umpire at the change of ends in which he said something along the lines of, "I've got a good draw in Melbourne, my focus is there...but I've gotta play here, I've gotta reach the final to get points to go up to 16." Conversation went on for a few minutes. Put in a bit of effort in the second half of the set but lost it. Came out with no interest at all, got broken, called the doctors out and then retired after barely talking to them.

What odd behaviour, basically he didnt care anymore and decided to focus on the AO lol

I think he should've just played in the Brisbane Open and taken this week off. I am surprised he decided to play both Brisbane and Sydney Open.

Little doubt this will be investigated and he'll be fined. Public and tennis world is going to lose the plot.

Was sad listening to him trying to pathetically spit out words in broken Russian to the chair umpire.

He bassically said after losing in Brisbane he didn't want to play Sydney. He was the biggest drawcard on the mens side so went ahead but his heart was never in it anyway.
