This is some of the worst political cheerleading in this thread. You make hazard seem impartial.

If you want to see broken promises you only need to go back to Julia Gillard to find a blatant liar. And she certainly wasn't the first.

And ofcourse don't forget Howard's core and non core promises.

What "immoral conduct" was that? You know the RNC didn't want Trump to win, right? Jeb Bush and then Rubio and then Kasich and then Ryan were their preferred candidates.

Umm they actively campaigned against Sanders during their primaries. They are meant to be neutral and let the party members decide the candidate.

Trump is fair game. Sorry I thought people were up to speed with the email leaks and what they contained.

There wouldn't be any screams you idiot, nobody would care,. You forget Bill?
Have you been in a vacuum for 8 years when the family values Republican party and there supporters have been attacking Michelle Obama at every opportunity??

I guess its difficult when your parties nomination cheated on 2 of his 3 wives, his current wife not only plagiarized the current 1st ladies speach, she falsified her education achievements and modeled for naked pictures.

Ratts is either paid to do this or a bot. Every discussion gets boiled down to Liberals = bad, Labor = good, even in discussions that have nothing to do with Australian politics.

Does anyone have a favourite over which poll or website we should follow?

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/#now

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presi...trump-gains-17-point-swing-two-weeks-clinton/

Breitbart who I would describe as a very conservative website claims that Trump has gone from trailing by 15 to leading by 2 in the space of 2 weeks.

I use this one. It gives an average of the major recent polls:

I'd avoid brietbart at all costs. They aren't credible in any way.

Fiverthirtyeight and RealClearPolitics are your two best bets. Again with the proviso that national polling doesn't mean much given the electoral college system. The states to keep an eye on are Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Colorado and Pennsylvania. Trump will need to win all of those states to have a real shot.

Last couple of Pennsylvania polls have come in at Clinton up 9. If that number holds up and starts being reflected in Virigina and Colarado (more democaratic states) Trump is going to find the maths on an electoral college victory very hard, even if he can get Ohio and Florida. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/

Breitbart is reporting on just one poll, which means there's the potential for lots of noise. Underlying trends reflected by models used by 538 and RealClear are better. Especially those that include state polling.

It's also important to understand what each one is saying. RealClear is an average of polls, while 538 effectively suggests a likelihood of winning. Don't be like Karl Rove on 2012 election night and obviously not understand the difference between the two.

If you're interested, 538 has compared their model against others:

I thought the left were supposed to be feminists? Criticizing a woman for modeling naked doesn't sound very pro-feminist to me.

It is why he is on my ignore list. Just incase he hasn't figured out why I rarely engage with him unless I'm on tapatalk where ignore doesn't work.

Thats not an excuse.
I'm not saying it is. I'm saying that he wasn't the first. Promise breaking has been the norm since Politicians since most people have been born.

I mean, how long have you heard the saying "American will be energy independent" from various presidents.

gilliard broke promises. But it was abbott who ran a campaign about not braking promises and then broke even more than his predecessor. If you cant see the staggering hypocrisy in that then you must be a robot.

You're just annoyed because I point out to people that you were a Chelsea fan and then became a Man U fan. Who does that? And there is no great loss in people who prefer the Liberal Party getting annoyed that I correct their BS. Victorian Liberals are better at handling a bit of disagreement, but I've travelled around and know there are some people who are heavily wedded to thinking that Labor is da worst evaaa.

Ha, couldn't respond to me directly and couldn't think of a reply other than a lazy untrue one. I would've conceded that the GFC played it role internationally, but you still focused on domestic politics in your attempt to call me a dunderhead. Oh well.

EDIT: I think Hillary won't make a great speech but will do better than expected. And some people will say she is shrill.

Come on, i'm no Abbott fan and he blatantly lied and broke those promises, but he's far from the first, and will be far from the last politician to do so. I'm sure the ancient Greek pollies were doing the same thing.

Anyway, back to the USA. Katy Perry out to talk! Hard hitting!
