Never seen Brander compared to Riewoldt in style before.
My reason for this comparison is that Jarrod Brander is not the typical key position power forward.Instead, he uses his aerobic capacity and work rate to tire his opponent, just like a Nick Riewoldt. Coming into the league Riewoldt was never a Jonathan Brown type who was reliant on strength and power. I'm not saying Brander is Riewoldt, just that he shows signs of developing into that sort of player eventually.

I wouldn't compare Davies-Uniacke to Dangerfield, he doesn't have the explosiveness or outside game for that comparison, he's more like an Ollie Wines imo

If Brander is like a Riewoldt he is much more Jack than Nick IMO.

Does he have the same leap and marking ability??
Doesn't have the leap (that I have seen) but is good lead up mark and a nice field kick. Hence the Jack comparison. I am not saying he is Jack mark 2, just that he is more like Jack than Nick.

I've seen or read nothing to make me think he is anywhere near Nick as an athlete to make that comparison. Guess the combine will sort that out.

Firstly, welcome along to BigFooty LionKing92

Look forward to reading more of your draft review. From your top 10 I see a lot of popular names although I'll point out 2 things.

1) If available Brander would be first option for the Dockers
2) Love the Coffield pick for the Saints and the Hayes pick for the Demons, 2 picks that I reckon you've nailed perfectly from outside the top 5.

What ??????
I compared Jack Higgins to Sam Mitchell because i see Jack becoming a full time midfielder rather than a small forward which he is currently. My first reason is that they both have an ability to kick with both the left & right foot. Secondly, Jack is a accumulator like Mitchell was. Their short kicks are accurate but not necessarily damaging to the opposition at times.

My what, was about the Outside mid description you had. Mitchell is as slow as treacle. He was as far as you could get as a mid to being an outside midfielder. Really a inside mid of highest order and nothing like an outside mid.

If you watched Sam Mitchell when he was younger he wasn't that slow. Throughout his career he played both outside & inside. Played more inside when he got older & had lost a step.

Ok, if you believe so, least it explains that odd comparison if this young kid is an outside mid.
For mine, I would never describe Mitchell as an outside mid but least I am aware now how you come to your comparison.

Naish is f/s. That pick makes no sense. Tigers would be burning a pick to grab him with their first. It wont happen. If no one bids on him before they will use AT least their first pick on someone else then wait for a bid before matching. They may even get to use both picks (if they keep them during trade silly season) before using the left over points from other picks to match any bid.

The fact his power rankings seem to have Naish ranked 13 indicate he was just being kind to you guys!

I wouldn't bother. His picks totally disregard everything that is being said by the club in regards to the type of kids they'll be looking at in the draft. It's almost a lock the Lions will take Paddy Dow at pick 1 (if we keep the pick).
Yeah it's pretty much just his rankings all over again

Where would you have Bonar going? And Garner?
I have Aidan Bonar going somewhere between 20-30 range. Have heard he could possibly go earlier (e.g. 15-20) but there is always speculation around this time. Has had a reasonable season. I think Joel Garner goes between 15-20 range. For me he is too inconsistent at this moment in time and hasn't separated himself from other prospects with similar skill sets to his.

Others may disagree. But i don't believe the Lions have made their mind up when it comes to the No. 1 draft selection. Yes there have been hints but they have pick 12 that they could use on a pure midfielder. I have said from day 1, that you should never pick for need at Pick 1 (e.g. Paddy McCartin over Christian Petracca) but best player available. That for me being Cameron Rayner. Not saying that is what the lions think or feel.

Patrick Naish is being talked up as a earlier selection than i have predicted, possibly the 11th or 12th pick. I was being generous with my prediction. I only said 15th pick because he is really good player regardless of him being a Richmond father/son prospect or not.

Sorry you dislike my work. I think not alone in saying that even "draft experts" (e.g. Callum Twomey, Brett Anderson & Terry Wallace) haven't always been right when doing there rankings or mock draft predictions either.:smile:
