Gus Brayshaw is a gun but kid cant get on the park, He is the best pure footballer with better skills

Yeah I know the bigger older one is rated higher in the draft and arguably more credentialed but I like the younger ones polish and movement and it has not come as a surprise to me he has moved up the phantoms over the course of the year

Its interesting.

Freo have pick 5 which if they use it on Naish they are welcome to him I would have thought, next pick 40 unless they most likely have another pick in mind.

Bulldogs have pick 9 which again they would be welcome to Naish if thats the pick they choose to use on Naish. Next is 26 which would be getting to the area one would think unless they are looking at a pick like 17 from Essendon via Richmond for Stringer.

Brisbane are looking at picks 1 and 12 firstly which one would think RFC would not challenge on, Then Brisbanes next pick is 18 which starts to get interesting.

This is from an article by Ben Guthrie which I find amazing. "Richmond has selections No.15 and No.17 in the first round of this year's draft and it is highly likely the Tigers will have to select him with one of those picks even if another club does not lodge a bid for Naish."

The bold is particularly amazing. Even if another club does not lodge RFC while use 15 or 17 on Naish as if the people at RFC are condemned to win a Darwin Award!!!!
I agree that the bold is bullshit. By my analysis, if Naish isn't bid on before pick 17 we use both those picks on other players in the draft. Worst case, he is then bid on pick 18 - 2nd round means flat 197 point discount for us to match, we need to pick up ~ pick 50 in addition to our current 52,53,70 to avoid using next year's points. We would need 5 genuine list spots to take 15,17,~50,52,53 to the draft. Maric, Yarran, Hunt, Elton + 1 traded out. Easy.
Surely we can get pick 50 or equivalent points upgrade to existing picks through Miles, Lloyd or whoever requests a trade. We then have a good chance on getting 3 top 20 draftees without affecting next year's draft.

We need a bid for Naish at #27 to break even with our 2 x 3rd rounders

#50 + #53 =506 points
#27 = 703 points

don't think he'll slide that far. Hopefully we can manufacture a trade for a 2nd rounder so we can keep our options open.

Was reading about this guy and his injury woes.
Interesting to see which clubs got the balls to use an early pick on him.

If we have our picks still and he lasts to us think we will, although he is rising fast along with Bradshaw.

Think we could take a risk on some kids with injury clouds tbh.

I don't know much about the draft, but if there was someone we really liked in the Top 10, could we package our 15 and 17 for say pick 10 (so Melbourne have 2 first rounders for Lever), and then hopefully that pick comes ahead of any Naish bid?

Need a pick in the low 30s/20s to match Naish or we will be taking a few players at the end of the draft.

Does anyone know if we can take 6 picks to the draft, I.e. 6 list spots free but draft only 4 but use the 6 picks to match Naish? Then just rookie list the last two, or do we have to nominate how many players we will be drafting and can’t sway from that?

If the latter it will be a big risk to take Naish with points and then cop two picks at the end of the draft.
