Luke Partington: 20yo midfielder was pick 28 in the 2015 draft. Possesses breakaway pace and good endurance which was evident in his draft year when he recorded a 2.96 20m sprint and a 14.1 beep at the combine. Has dominated in the WAFL as a goal kicking midfielder with his best game coming in a loss to the Swans where he had 27 possessions and kicked 4 goals. He has consistently racked up the numbers there and earned a senior call up where he has played the past 6 games of the season including the elimination final. (Out of contract)

Joe Atley: 19yo midfielder who was drafted at pick 32 in the 2016 draft. Played 3 games in his debut year with some shaky performances but its his form in the SANFL that has me liking him. A contested possession beast who thrives in the close stuff and has a huge tackle count in most games, He is especially good below his knees, picking up a hit out or loose ball with one touch and is influential when extracting by hand to his teammates, possessing the ability to release the ball quickly to advantage. He loves hitting opponents hard whether it be with a tackle or a bump and when tackled, he stands tall and is difficult to move, sometimes lifting his arms like Joel Selwood to escape the attempt.

Ayway, almost no way we could snare either of them let alone both but I would love it if we somehow managed this if GIbbs was to be traded. Both I think would compliment our side and current youth perfectly but that's just my opinion

Partington would be a pretty handy get

I'd like to think there is still at least 5-6 players we have yet to recruit who will be in our best 22 the next time we play finals

Plowman Jones Docherty
Weitering Marchbank *New Player*
*New Player* Cripps *New Player*
Pickett Curnow JSOS
*New Player* McKay Wright

Kreuzer Gibbs SPS

*New Player* *New Player* Williamson and Fisher

Maybe some players on our list like Cuningham, Macreadie, Murphy, Byrne, Polson etc. may be able to fill some of these spots

What about Matt Taberner(freo) to partner Levi up front? Been in and out of the side and clearly they see McCarthy as the answer. Out of contract and played a ripper today in the wafl.
My god no!
Does sfa for Freo.
I would rather give games to Harry than bring in a list clogger

If Kelly were to decide on Carlton (and we're obviously still keen on Kennedy) - assuming Adelaide receive #10 for Lever off the Dees which we receive for Gibbs (in addition to Doedee). Would it be as simple as:

GWS receive; #3, #10 & #38 (Carlton's 3rd Rd Pick)
Carlton receive; Kelly, Kennedy, Doedee & #29 (GWS 2nd Rd pick they acquired from StK last season).

#3 is probably unders for Kelly & #10 is overs for Kennedy hence the exchange of 2nd & 3rd Rd picks.

Why Doedee?

Hearing Kelly to North is pretty much done deal (going there for money and went for them as a kid).

I wouldn't be against trading pick 3 for Schache + Brisbane's second round pick (they will get a priority pick anyway). Schache only signed on for 2 years to keep media away apparently. Getting him allows us to play Curnow as a mid who rests fwd and Schache is right in the age bracket of the list that we need. I am not sold that he is a great player but imagine having a forward line with McKay at his peak, Schache at his peak and then Charlie resting forward it would do so much damage.

Is that what they are saying over at the Norf Board.

Brendon Ah Chee....rising 24yo classy inside midfielder , out of contract ,most likely wont be a Port next year.. Would we chase him ?

Would like, but you'd expect Gold Coast to jump to the front of the queue.

- GC always on the lookout for established players.
- Chance for Brendon to play with his younger brother.
- GC have four second round picks, which gives them plenty of options to facilitate the trade.

Also, haven't seen much of him recently but I'd hope he's gotten over his penchant for stupidly long handballs. Had one or two, some twit in the media wrote a puff piece about it and Ah Chee bought into his own legend. The 3 or 4 that he nails in the highlights look great, but I seem to recall there were a few more like that Monfries abomination as well where he rushed a lofted handpass and coughed the ball up.

Have real trouble seeing Wright as part of it. Bottom group will all be in the mix IMO. I'd add LeBois & Kerr

We are a couple Ruckmen short now that both Gorringe and Korcheck are gone, and I still like Sam Hayes. If we were to Pick 17, could get him with that i'd imagine (though i guess the club is more likely to take a midfielder?). Does seem as if he could be a good long-term replacement for Kreuzer, also seems as if he can play forward*.

Lobbe has finally hit some form for the Port Magpies. He's been struggling since Ryder crossed over to Alberton.

Not sure why so many people are keen on trading Gibbs out while he is in the prime of his career, while we are in desperate need of genuine experienced A grade class through the midfield, Gibbs will more or less hold his value for atleast another few season, no need to rush into making a average trade.

Suggesting we'd pick Lobbe up? Isn't he the wrong age? Will be 29 in Feb 2018. And isn't his knee a concern?
Knee looks like it's Ok now. At 29 he's getting on but would allow a younger option time to develop. As it stands there is Kreuzer then crickets. Port would probably pay part of his salary having signed him on a 5 year contract before falling out of favour. My preference would be picking up Mason Shaw as a speculative forward / ruck option.
