There is hope, one of the most refreshing posts in a while, you clearly have common sense - you are most certainly from the outside world like myself and my fellow Carlton supporter friends.

Well surely we wouldn't have cut the 3 guys today if we hadn't already had formal agreements with several DFA's that they would join us right?
I don't think we have enough draft picks to fill the list spots.

Club must already have some agreements in place. I reckon Mullett & Shaw given the rumours. Maybe also Miles.

Been a GC Suns member 5 years and been to nearly every home game in that time. We call Shaw 'Apples' ..... as in 'turnover'.
Super fit .. extremely professional .. quick .. hard at the ball .. CAN NOT KICK TO SAVE HIMSELF.

Surely we have been purging blokes who don't have the skill to hit targets in this reset. Shaw doesn't fit that profile. If we pick him up I really hope he improves for our sake, but seriously doubt it.

I reckon we all got a bit caught up in the LJ hype. His first 6 games this year were very high standard. After that, I reckon teams figured out how to expose him a bit and his form was spotty

Sen ratings for his last 6 games: 4-4-7-4-7-2
That's real inconsistency, and 4 substandard games interspersed with two good games (plus the round 23 debacle).

I don't think you can build a defence around that sort of inconsistency, particularly if those low games feature big forwards getting off the hook and kicking big bags of goals. Better a consistent effort, or just giving a younger player experience.

That said, Weitering and Marchbank also played poorly at times this year and a veteran might be a good idea while they build confidence. Jones can still play a role if we need to protect them

I reckon he was thrown to the wolves in rd23 as we salivated over better draft picks. No smart coach leaves jones one out with buddy all day

I agree - no list cloggers.

But, the decision SoS had is 1. Keep players who are providing almost nothing to the team or 2. Bring in players who have had bad season(s)/injuries etc and give them the right environment, coaching and opportunity to turn it around.

The worst thing that could happen is the DFA’s don’t perform and get cut after their 1 year contract, no major loss. But it gives us an opportunity to bring in a player that SOS and Bolts have identified some sort of talent in.

Or..keep Jaksch, Buckley, White etc on the list and get what we always get from them - nothing.

Concerned though if he doesn't have much up top.

Our history with the bald mullet isn't too shabby...

Only thing I saw RE: O'Shea was the Northern Blues' thanking him for his contribution to the team, unsure whether that means he's moving onto another VFL team or suburban footy. But I do suspect we won't be picking him, 26 next year especially if we're picking Mullett up who's played similar roles at AFL level.

No worries, I typically keep track of all the north players that have left for other clubs and I generally wish them all the best.

White got the most of himself and a great servant but needed to go.

IMO smedts was the worst player I’ve ever seen pull the jumper on for Carlton. Harsh but true.

Ruthless delistings but needed to be done for the greater good. If your doing a total rebuild you don’t half arsed delist.

I no longer have a whipping boy, who will it be.

I would like 2/3 of O’shea, mullett, miles, lamb, hartung picked up. Solid backup & solid vfl players to help the kids develop.

Few new targets for the ignore list too

You could always choose Kerridge, he's tracking nicely for this years whipping.

I like kerridge, always got lots of love for those that absolutely bust a gut. Eg army, carrots, ed, kedge
