We need someone to kick 30-50 goals, which we do not have at the moment. Kick goals you win games, and you climb up the ladder. Pretty simple. otherwise we can go on about how much potential Casboult has...if he could kick straight.

Are you talking about the same Crameri who has goal kicking averages of 0.5 a game for 2017, N/A for 2016, 1.8 for 2015 and 1.7 for 2014? The same Crameri that's played 2 games in the last 2 years? The same Crameri who had his best year in 2014 as best I can tell and that was about 37 goals which is only 3 more than Levi last year? The same Crameri who's 10cm shorter than Casboult so I dare say won't be as good a relief ruckman? The same Crameri who is 29 and delisted and maybe at best has 2 years of sub par performance left in him and would be taking the spot of a Silvagni, McKay, or Kerr (or even Casboult) is he were to be played on field? Just wanted to make sure we're talking about the same guy here...

We do need to kick goals, but we shouldn't be thinking that a 29 year old who hasn't played in 2 years is going to be the answer.

Defence is set and we have been working on our defensive structures. Midfield is developing (has some elite talent) which will make a massive difference to our goal scoring ability. McKay Kerr Silvagni are all talented and our improving midfield will kick a lot of goals. We aren't far away. All Crameri would do is fill a hole that could be used for much better developing talent. Patience

Joining 25-year-old Shaw on the track were former Port Adelaide defender Cameron O'Shea and Blaine Boekhorst, who is hoping for a reprieve after he failed to survive Carlton's latest cut.

I don't quite understand the O'Shea reasoning. Handy for the NB's but how does he help at Senior level? Tall defenders aren't exactly an area we struggle with

There must be a good reason for it, but I have little idea what that idea may be.
If all back-men were to remain back-men, we'd be covered in the senior team with Jones, Marchbank & Weitering.

Our NB back-line could then look like:

ASilvagni Rowe Macreadie
O'Shea Glass-McCasker Mullett

Doesn't make sense on face value, effectively having 8 KPD's in the squad, even if it is only for one year.

I am sure they have their reasons. As I said in another post they may just feel we need a few more mature 25 year old types to help whilst the kids develop. Could also be that the club are paying him as part of NB's and he is training with us to keep fit and understand structures etc to pass on at reserves level

watch his highlight reel - young bloke is everywhere..........

I still feel that most of Pickett's best work was not quite right.....he NEARLY did something brilliant.... he ALMOST pulled off something spectacular.

I expect this did and will improve with increased fitness, game time and confidence.

I want to believe he will put it all together, because if he does he is going to be a genuine game-breaker.

What we need is a team that can kick 350 goals in a season.
I don't care if they come from the backline and or forwards go goals. Just get me those 350 goals.

Always thought Shaw was underutilised at GC, and is a handy player. Just having trouble seeing where he adds too
much that we don't already have. O'Shea reported to be a fav of Bolts among the NB's, reward for effort, but we have
tall defenders coming out our .... Boakhorst interesting, some decent performances at the back end of the season, surely
either/or with Shaw.....at least should produce maximum effort to test his ceiling (go hard or go home)

That doesn't really seem to fit, but who knows?
It's not as though we won't have KPP experience at the NB's next year, unless they go down like flies.

Bottom side in 1980 nearly got that.

Believe it or not, the bottom side in that season kicked more goals in home and away than the team on top of ladder.
Food for thought.
