Korchek was a free hit, international Market. JGM was always a project player and has shown a little this year. Gallucci injured 1st year and this year has proved to be a bit of a bust. LeBois, I wouldnt write off just yet, showed a bit in JLT.
Not saying SOS has been horrendous with the rookies, but other clubs have probably done better.

I'm hoping LeBois can start to show a bit more.

Lebois was taken as speculative pick, with a bit of X factor.

He wasn't that speculative - from memory some had him as high up as a top 30 prospect.

Hasn't had a good year but he's had a fairly interrupted season thanks to injury.

I'll be surprised if they don't give him another year.

Of course!
Overpaying is you paid something for Kelly and everybody else was paying less for Kelly next door
But there is only one Kelly
And only one club recruiting Kelly
Can't overpay
It could be relevant to what others are willing to pay. If there is a dilapidated house for 1 mill that hasnt been bought for 10 years and you paid it. Youd have overpayed. Regardless of the fact its one of a kind and no one else can buy it.

That being said. Kelly is far from dilapidated

People are talking about Kelly and Hooper being a duo we might be chasing.

I have seen the argument that Kelly is inside/out rather than purely inside to cover for Cripps.

I'm wondering whether we might be looking at Setterfield as well. Rounded mid with inside skills, extra height and we bid on him last year.

Pick 2 and the Gibbs pick (if he goes) for Kelly and Setterfield would be a tidy effort.

Yes, Setterfield was the pick of the bunch for me as a pure mid last year, unfortunately he has just re-signed

That would have been ideal, but he has recently signed on for another couple of years.

Not someone GWS would easily let go.

No chance we get those 2 that cheap...it would have to be at least our 2017 and 2018 first picks.

Depends what we get for Gibbs doesn't it?

Potential for success or failure
Yeah gotchya. The reason I said probability has nothing to do with it was because it seemed the context was around whether SOS was able to back up his reputation for picking well.

I see it being a mid-late 1st rounder and an upgrade. Gibbs isn't the only option for Adelaide but he is a good one.

I'm more thinking of trading whatever we get for a lower pick much like our 20 and 21 for 11 trade.

Yeah I was just saying his success in previous drafts has no influence on his potential success in this draft or future drafts. More to the point, he shouldn't gamble against doing well again because he's 'due' for a poor one.

He just has to work out where the value lies in this draft. Is it better to spend picks on known talent? Where are upgrades/downgrades prudent? Should he try and get more picks for next year? This comes down to both data and intuition.
