Surely after what happened at the Gold Coast Suns today and Tom Lynch coming out of contract at the end of next season, im guessing Levi will take the best deal he can cause im betting every single Vic club will be queuing up to sign up Lynch.

Any pick in the 20-30 range is a good win out of the Cas situation. While the pick on its own might not be to a great advantage, it can definitely be the "and something" that gets another high profile deal over the line.

We honestly have to thank Cas if that's what he nets us as we would have gotten penuts for him at the end of last season.

Thank the coaching panel for lifting his game.

Let's back-track to 2016: Ty Vickery - tier 2 key forward - netted a $500k x 2 year deal and earned Richmond Band 3 (2nd Round Pick) compensation.

Whilst the cap has gone up 20%, having the same money on the table; being a similar player; and having a deal twice as long (reported to be 4 years) for a total deal worth $2 million - I'd say the AFL will (and absolutely should) give us Band 3 compo i.e. in place of our traded 2nd round pick ~19/20.

I've posted previously that the AFL still owe us compensation for Waite.

I'm hopeful they make it up to us this year!!!!!

Pick 3 for Levi and I would be wetting myself laughing.......

Funk I know (not for certain after your previous input) you're joking but seriously buddy.

For a split second I thought credit to you for persisting with your thoughts on PP however now.....out and out stupidity!

Pay the learned people on this thread some respect!

What would people think about trading Plowman for something like the Dog's 2018 pick?
We have a glut of KPD and he has had a good year so interest would surely follow, I'm not sure on his contract situation however.
not a chance. Our defence is set and i dont want to alter it for the next 10 years.
Plowman, Marchbank, Maccredie, Weitering, Jones, Doc, Byrnes.
Marchbank and Maccredie can play further up the ground, Doc and Byrnes to. We need a stable backline. I dont want to trade any

I wouldn't be chasing Lynch. I think we need to target Kelly this year and then end of 2019 we need to have the cash to target Shiel.

Not real happy with Levi wanting out after all we did selecting him very late and maturing him into the great mark he is today and these blokes are hard to find in the AFL these days.

It just seems we put all the hard work and background into big bodied players and then they want to leave us when they are close to their prime i.e Sam Jacobs also.

Watch Levi kill us every time we play the Tigers now and he also leaves a void in back up ruck duties and Matty K needs help. We are going to still have a lot of holes to fill with only so many picks in the draft this season which is reported to be very weak.

AFL will screw us on compo as well i reckon.

The only reason why Cas is looking elsewhere is because SOS wants him to look elsewhere. If we as a club wanted him to stay then our offer would reflect that.
The same with Jacobs, we had Kruz and Jacobs but went out and got Warnock instead of having faith in what we had. I couldn't blame him and Cas is the same.

Yes you were correct - I was joking.

But humour me for a minute!!

Given the AFL make up the rules as they go along (eg Cotchin can win the Brownlow after punching someone in the face - yet other players are ineligible for a tackle!) - just say they thought "we owe Carlton a leg up after the way we've shafted them for years" - let's just give them Pick 3 for Levi.

Could you imaging the melts??

I would be crying laughing for a week!

He's been one of our more reliable defenders back there week in and week out.. pure madness!

I don't know about pure madness, given what was put forward.
It won't happen, but you have to give credit to the idea, given what's happening/will happen with the Dogs backline, this year and next.

Our cause is to upscale at every call and if there was genuine interest in Plowman, we should at least listen.
We're not quite ready for rapid-fire chopping and changing, but it will come, to this industry as a whole.

You're delusional ......

But the melts would be sublime.

Come on now. You think Levi is going to kill ASOS, Jones and Marchbank? Please.

Plowman isnt a key position defender he is more of a medium defender and most weeks plays on smaller forwards with Jones, Weitering and Marchbank getting the bigger forwards. I really like him and would keep him.

Agree 100%.

Reality is this group of 26+ish players haven't got us to where we needed to.

Consider all offers for players that will allow us to build around Curnow, Cripps, McKay, Weitering, Docherty, Samo, Marchbank, Plowman, Cunningham, Williamson, McReadie, Fisher, SOS, Fisher and of course Jones and Kruzer.

I think the AFL will give us a hand with Gazz's value and PP pick 18 or19 too especially if the Lions knock of the Suns and Roos at the Gabba and we end up with the spoon again.
They've no other choice, after all they'd be looking after one of there premier brands.

Pick 2 plus second round Compo for casboult
Next years second round pick

For Kelly/Hooper

Lose casboult pick up Kelly/hooper keep Gibbs extra midfield depth for next year.

front end Kelly/hoopers contract go into next year back end a huge lynch contract still have a top 10 pick. Draft Bsos and will hickmott. Not over complicated, thoughts?

I hope David re-signs quickly.

With Dennis retiring and Dale, Daniel and Dylan facing uncertain futures, we need at least one 'D' on the list for 2018.
