Not ideal and not best balance but I can see us using Phillips as tall forward second ruck at times. A good pre season and McKay will play some ruck as well. Wright & Daniher both played ruck in year 1 and 2.

How does this happen? Injury in late May, standard recovery at 9 months now for ACL.
Interview a little while ago had Sam confident of being available round 1, 2018.

They also take into account length of contract and age, so the dollar figure isn't the only determining factor.

And curious as to how anyone knows what the cut-off is for the top 30% salaries. Haven't seen any reports indicating what that magic number is.

4 years at $500k, for a key forward leaving a bottom two side bereft of experienced forwards. Compares pretty favourably when compared to players like Vickery and Mayne who got slightly more money on shorter contracts, and we're deemed worth Band 3 compensation.

You can make up any figure you want, the rumour from MS3 or Barass was 400K a year, that would not get us a band 3

Barass said Cas wants 500k for 4 years.
MS3 has not mentioned any dollar figures as far as I'm aware.

I wonder if it will even come to what level compo we get.

If Dusty leaves, surely Richmond wouldn't want to sign Casboult as a FA as it will dilute any compo they get for him. I'd imagine Dusty would get them a band 1 pick. If they grabbed Cas, it would push it back to a band 3 I reckon.

A player swap could be on the cards instead. One of their small forwards (seeing as though they have a plethora of them) could work.

I have read them and I told you what they were from the 2 that you specified that you got the rumour from. Neither of them said 400k.

What are you on about? You said 400k, the link you posted barass says 500k.

So there is zero truth to your original claim.

Barass says Cas wants 500k for 4 years. Maybe that's only what he wants from us to stay. Doesn't rule out the Tigers offering 600k. Most likely he'd take the 600k deal ifit was on offer, but there's also the chance that he'd take 100k per season less to stay loyal. There's no signs of him being disgruntled.

I'm not sure. When you consider the whole contract is worth 2 mill that would go close.

And so the duration doesn't matter? I would've thought if it's over 4 years that would have to account for something surely.
