Gore and Menzel delisted, Sam Shaw departure confirmed
I'm actually really disappointed with Menzel and Gore's delisting. Don't think Menzel particularly got a fair crack at it, just piecemeal games here and there, and with Cameron leaving next year I would have thought his opportunity to make an impact would have increased.

Good job wabbit

No set time, but our next round of delistings - if we have any to make - will probably happen this week, next Monday at the latest.

Whether or not we sign a DFA I don't know, since we took a short cut already to sign Gibson. With 3 or 4 senior spots to fill at the draft (Keath may yet be elevated) and another 2-5 available rookie list positions (Keath takes one if not elevated per cat B rules, Beech and Hunter may go), certainly there might be an argument to taking another top up player instead of pick 127, or more likely pick 70-80 something, as this draft has all the hallmarks of passes and rookie elevations happening by pick 50.

Excellent write up mate, Very good overview to see what's happening in the coming weeks.

Just one question though, with the below players coming out:
Scott Thompson (retired) [Inside Midfield]
Jake Lever (Melbourne) [Third Tall Defender]
Dean Gore (delisted) [Inside Midfield]
Troy Menzel (delisted) [Medium Forward]
Harrison Wigg (Gold Coast) [Half Back Flank]
Charlie Cameron (Brisbane) [Forward]
Sam Shaw (retired) [Key defender]

and Bryce Gibbs + Sam Gibson coming in, I'm counting 7 going out, (2 in) 5 Spots up for grabs (Shaw a rookie spot, and Greenwood taking a senior spot which opens up another rookie spot?

I'm counting that we will be One less in terms of senior players, unless i'm missing something. Based on this, will we be using our Preseason draft allocated pick just to fill the list? or perhaps upgrade Jarman/Keath and pick another rookie? (assuming we have another rookie spot/pick available just not shown?

National Draft (from) [position]
12.
39.
77. - Reserved for Jackson Edwards
109. - Reserved for Hugh Greenwood upgrade

Preseason Draft (from) [position] - These are never usually used, the Preseason draft it basically redundant now. (but will it this year?)
17.

Rookie Draft (from) [position]
17. - Replacement Rookie pick for H.Greenwood
35. - New Rookie pick up
53. - New Rookie pick up

Greenwood was a cat B rookie, so he's not vacating a spot on the rookie list proper.

Our current rookie list is Beech, Hunter, and Jarman, with 3 vacancies.

How many rookies we pick up depends on how we rate the available talent, whether or not we delist Hunter and Beech, and whether we promote Keath to the senior list or not - Keath is also a cat B rookie, but now that he's played senior games he must be promoted to either the cat A rookie list, or the senior list.

So we could take 0 new rookies (retain Beech and Hunter with Jarman, promote Keath to cat A, leave 2 spots empty), or we could take as many as 5 (retain Jarman, delist Beech and Hunter, promote Keath to senior list, and have 0 spots empty).

As for our senior list, we have 6 outs, 3 ins, and we entered 2017 one player short, so we still have to bring in 4 more players - any combo of Keath, draft picks, and delisted free agents.

We don't have 3 vacancies on our rookie list. Having only 39 players on our senior list meant that we were entitled to have 5 players on our (CatA) rookie list this year. Shaw has retired. The club hasn't announced any other changes so far. This gives us 2 vacancies - 1 of which is dependent on not having a full senior list.
