5 years after, how would you re-do the 2017 AFL Draft?

Everyone will have slightly different views on all of the players. I may be riding the high of the 2021 grand final with Fritsch (Sue me! :0 )

Roarke was first part of the 2014 class.

And Ainsworth isn’t even good enough to be in the 30.

Where are Ballard and De Koning?

Fritsch and Ryan 5 spots apart despite identical goals per game is odd. Splitting hairs imo.

I like Paton but he's there twice. Hunter Clark gets a clean run and he's worthy.

Sam Taylor criminally low here

It's a fair call. i'd prefer the guy that can be AA fwd and AA defence. Mids grow on trees and i still have question marks over Brayshaw with his hurt factor. He's a pure accumulator in every sense of the word.
I was in the same boat but he's taking his game to a new level this year, he leads us in score involvements (2nd in the league) and metres gained this year (6th in the league) and he's starting to hit the score board quite frequently (nearly two shots on goal a game this year). Yes, it's a small sample size and we've had a good draw but he's no longer just an accumlator, he's got hurt factor.

I think quite a few teams have won flags without superstar key forwards (yourself included), it's almost never done without superstar mids of some sort. Brayshaw is reaching that level

yeah I agree that you need superstar mids but I don't think Brayshaw has the burst from stoppage that the real guns have like Petracca, Oliver & Danger in his peak but Brayshaw is a real workhorse that most teams would love.

Your underrating McCartin and overrated Balta by about 10 spots
Has talent but extremely inconsistent

Where is CJ?

You got Paton in twice so bump everyone down and put CJ somewhere in the lower half of the top 10.

Brayshaw = Macrae in so many ways. He'll be the workhorse of your side for the next decade, even if he doesn't have the damage per disposal that a Bont/Petracca does. Will probably collect a handful of AAs along the way
