fasolo taken time off for depression. Could potentially come home to be with family. Could be some we replace Lecras with as he is a pretty lively customer around goals and decent leading player for his size.

So what's he on then? You know that for a fact? I have heard from multiple sources he's on the much. Sources that have been pretty dam legit in the past. He was one of the best defenders in the game once upon a time. Maybe we are talking endorsements as well. But he pockets 800k a year according to several people I know.

My source was the article I posted that said there were 12 players in the league earning $800K or more.

If we're talking endorsements then maybe it is $800K. But he's not taking up that much of our cap.

Mckenzie. Guy is on 800k a year. That's a chunk of change to be freed up. Schoey would be on half that, maybe less.

Read EMac he's was on $600k not $800k.

Eagles really need to get serious in trade week this year. Need to target pacey forwards who can support a slow midfield both defensively and offensively.

Again retain and use our first pick, similar to last year and chase another mid with some size, pace and skill.

2nd rounder used on McGov Jnr + steak knives (Karpany / Partington maybe).

Throw some serious cash at a free agent or trade target.

McKenzie, Masten and Le cras to be moved on for whatever we can get. Realistically one of Priddis or Mitchell retire.

Not against chasing Matera from Gold Coast.

can we start a masten to suns/essendon rumour and get the media hooked.

Buy this guy a drink..... I like where he is coming from.

As Baldrick would say " A cunning plan My Lord ".

Will be a very happy day in my household when Masten is dropped and replaced by a younger and more deserving player, alas until that day I grin and bear it, and live in hope.

Now........ the trade to somewhere else.......... is a refreshing thought.

Masten wont go anywhere. He will finish his career with us. Signed to 2019 I think.

That is indeed very sad news.

Two thousand and F******* nineteen. Sigh.

2nd round + Karpany / Lamb. At a stretch Partington as a quality set of steak knives. Hey maybe Le cras could be involved as the Crows are right in flag mode even though he's a FA.

That nasty hamstring injury doesn't help boost his trade value. If he comes back late and really does well that will help.
Don't think Lecras will move out of W.A he has just built a big house in Hillarys and Loves his fishing and boating too much.

dont get the karpany trade to adelaide. Crows are loaded to the brim with gun smalls.

Yeah I've see him looking pretty comfy walking out of the shops in Vic park with the mrs. Slouch beanie and all. Not going anywhere.

Bett's won't last forever and McGov Jnr is coming home.

Catch up mate!!!
Betts will go around for a bit. Cameron, milera and menzel all good. crows also good chance to land the older menzel soon.

Betts is contracted until the end of 2020. Our 2nd for Gov Jnr seems fair - no need to include steak knives. Karpany could be a very good small forward (with midfield potential) for us and at the very least Partington may turn out to be handy depth much like Hutchings. Moreover, we have Darling, Waterman, Allen, Lamb and Tunbridge (all of them around the same height and also play in a similar manner as Gov Jnr) already on our list. Only Darling and Tunbridge are older than Gov Jnr.

Second rounder for Gov jnr. I would rather send him to the draft im sure Carlton, Brisbane or pretty much any team would grab him especially freo.
First rounder. You can't financially value a player at $600-$700k and not trade value him as pick in the 30s

We'll throw in Redden as well

I wouldn't have thought so either, but here we are.

$600k for McGovern seems a bit nuts.

Second rounder won't get it done. Partington and Karpany also add very little.

I sense it will be our pick 12 for McGovern + their second.

I think we'd be mad to give up our first round pick for a third tall.

I'm with you there. I just don't know how it could get done without it as it's not in our nature to push players the other way (at least one worth the equivalent of a first rounder).

Another option is to flick pick 12/13 for a pick closer to 20 (and something else) that we could then flick on to Adelaide. Hard to work in specifics this far out though.

I'll just say that I think that pick would be fair value for him and I think he'll be a very good player.

But with Darling already cemented in that role I really don't think we can part with a potential good mid at that selection.

M Gov is out of contract at the end of the year, and as such Adelaide will not have the bargaining power to demand a first round pick. The club won't trade away their first this year either after the result of the last couple of times we've done that. We're a fair club, so I sense we won't absolutely bend Adelaide over so I can see a late 20's pick and some form of steak knives getting it done. Not sure why everyone seems to be thinking that we're going to be paying him 700k a year, his older brother who will go back to back all australian this year will be lucky to be on 600k.
