The real question is how is how do we get the absolute most out of Stratton and McGovern in the backline next year.

Um noGaff and Schofield to Geelong.
Masten to Gold Coast.
We sign Motlop as a free agent.
For Gaff, Schofield and Masten we get Menagola plus the end of 1st round FA pick Cats get for Motlop plus Cats pick 34.
If need to offer to pay some of Gaffs salary for one season to help with the Cats cap space.
Cats get Gaff, Ablett and Schofield and still have pick 20 for D Smith.
Suns get Masten lose a 33 year old Ablett.
We then hit the draft with picks 13 or 15, pick 21, 30, 34, 48.

Retaining Gaff may not be an option. Its not like he's not getting picked, we arent playing finals or not paying him enough.
If he elects to move its a likestyle choice on where he wants to live.
Quality response.Um no

If a player wants out you dont match the offer to keep them you match it to force a trade negotiation and better deal.I thought Gaff was RFA next year so we match any offer
ha ha troll !Hawks: Billy Hartung and Stratton
WCE: Gaff and 48
Thoughts?
21 and 34 for gaff is rubbish especially since we suck at drafting in the second round .Gaff and Schofield to Geelong.

These obviously change depending on where we and the Cats end up finishing.

Aka Dangerfield. The player still moves.
21 and 34 for gaff is rubbish especially since we suck at drafting in the second round .
Then we get a front runner in motlop to boot who is a free agent
Gaff masten and Schofield for 21 and 34 and menagola WTF
Still the extra cash next year allows us access to better players / draft picks, next year.
You keep insisting we have to spend all our cap space on guys like Rockliff this year, which simply isn't true.
If you rate Rockliff, then fair enough, i understand spending the money now, but I'm not sure that you do.
I don't think menagola is worth that much . Maybe a pick about 30 .More like Menagola + 21 for Gaff.
34 for Schofield + Masten.
The question is what is Managola worth on his own? Early 2nd / late 1st?
He certainly is the type of mid we do not have and we need. Played a good final last night. So what is he worth?
DraftI don't like being misquoted so please don't. Who said anything about spending all our cap space on Rockliff or players like him?
All our cap space is $2+ million dollars which is a stupid suggestion and one I certainly did not make.
What I am saying is we should invest some of that cap space now on a FA or trade, sure front end a couple of contracts now and then have another crack next year.
Saving everything for next year is not workable IMO as we would then have close to $3 million to spend and not many options.
Look at history, how many top line players have come back to WA that demand top dollars?
Who do we spend $3m on next year?
You're giving up way more than you should for not much back as well as making Geelong someone also in the finals alot stronger. It just doesn't make sense.Quality response.
Care to elaborate or are you restricted to only words with two letters?![]()
Well we also have to consider whether we play Hartung in the forward pocket or on the half back flankThe real question is how is how do we get the absolute most out of Stratton and McGovern in the backline next year.
Where would we play Hoges?Draft
Unless, someone like Hogan with A grade talent is available
Rumour is that hogan hates the eagles and if he comes home will go to the dockersDraft

over rated for sureHogan ain't even that good
No way!!!! Matera is a spud. Fasolo would dominate in our forward line.Matera or Fasolo ? I'd pick Matera.
Yes, but only for our pick 18Can we get Ellis-Yollman and do you think he could be the Hbf we need
