Hall for a second rounder would be awesome. Would allow us to send Gaff to saints for one of their picks and we should have enough to get both Higgins and Clark. I like them both because of their ability on both sides and versatility in multiple positions.

Rockliff as a FA for 2-3 years to lessen the experience blow. (Not essential but he'd buy us a few more years to develop our mids)

Trade Masten Schofield etc for 3rd rounders and try to improve draft position enough to ensure we pick Kelly. Ryan with a late pick and a project FF and ruck with late/rookie.

Rockliff Kelly Shuey Hall with Higgins Clark Venables rotating through there would be a nice pacy midfield that could impact almost instantly.

Need to make some bold moves this year.
Not sold on Rockliff tbh, sure he's free from a trade perspective but does he improve our midfield enough to get us over the top? If not then we're better off developing some younger players. I'm not convinced he's going to leave anyway, he just had a baby and seems pretty settled in Brisbane.
Agree on Hall for the right price but if the GC want a first round pick or something then I'd be telling them no.

I think Redden could be one of the ways we could get Rocky over the line. In saying that i agree.. Can't see a place for Rockliff.

Hall i rate

I had expected more from Rotham as he is a possible outside wingman. He played wing and HBF at WA U18 and colts.

He was seen as a really decent pick up at our 2nd round last year and really disappointed in his development this year. He was one that should be starting to come through in 2018.
I cant help but think that he should've been on the wing because of his light frame, and that's what would've helped him get into the game. From what I understand he was being played as third tall in defence and maybe that hindered him. I would have thought wing and then outside mid as he puts on some size would be the way forward for Rotham.

It's a worry Falco.
Another example of poor player development at East Perth.
When I watched him at Eagles training early in the year , they had him doing lots of run throughs from the wing bouncing the ball and then shooting for goal from the 45 / 50 mark...... he didn't miss to many .

I thought this was an indication that we may be grooming him as an attacking wingman...... alas it was not to be.

I see him long term as being a great option on the wing.

Wouldn’t mind Aaron Hall his stats and impact on the game is pretty good..

Rd 7 v Geelong scored 156 fantasy points went like this 32 disposals 10marks , 8 tackles also had a 40 disposals game v Richmond RD 19 - 8 marks and 6 tackles 152 fantasy points ..

Comes down to cost I guess ..

Just to summarize the last thirty pages or so. We are trading Gaff and Masten. Then bringing in Hogan, Cripps, Wingard, Higgins, Hall and Fasolo. Oh and Liam Ryan is worth a first round draft pick.

Love this time of year.
Liam Ryan do not want unless for a rookie pick not fit enough or defensively capable enough for mine. No doubt has a lot of talent when he gets it but doesnt work anywhere near hard enough when he doesnt. We need players that will apply immense defensive pressure as a small forward not a fair weathered player luke Josh Hill or Ryan

Is Willie Rioli fit or defensively capable enough for you?
Not a dig, just curious.

Too boring around here this time of year without the variety of weird and wonderful drafting and trading rumours or hypotheticals..

Do you think it's an inability on the coaches part to work out what position these guys should be playing or is it just that we like to develop our young players on a flank for 2 or 3 years before they're moved? Either way it seems a ridiculous way to aid their development. I somewhat get playing them out of position at first at AFL level (even though I think guys like Partington should get a bit more run in the middle) but as much as is practical they should be playing the position we see them in at senior level when they're in the WAFL.

Da faq? Are we talking about Shaun Higgins? Shaun ******* Higgins!?!? Can i jave some of what youve all been smoking? I would rather Ballentine than Higgins
The thing I like most about Higgins is that he wears those bright coloured boots so he's easy to pick out to swear at when he spuds up your ultimate footy team. Assuming someone was dumb enough to draft him in the first place

So hearing from the trade talk at the Brownlow gathering that there was speculation linking Gaff with the Hawks. Hawthorn's first 2 picks this year are 32 and 42. So, apart from Stratton who turns 29 in March next year wanting to join a congested backline overflowing with 3rd talls (and our backline is our strength anyway), who could they possibly offer up to us? Hartung is one but reality he was taken second round at pick 24 and he is serviceable current C grader with potential to be a B grader. I surely hope we do not get stuck with a crap trade period because of this.

If there is serious talk about Gaff to Melbourne, then please let it be the Saints. We really need to hang out for a top 10 draft pick. No point in getting another B grade transfer and a pick in the second or third round to top it up.

Take every opportunity to improve your list.

Rocky via free agency..
Hall & gc first second rounder for our first.
gaff & gc first second rounderr for acres & 8
30 for fasolo & collingwoods third.
2018 2nd for Mountford & 2018 norths third

draft
pick 8 hunter clark
cwd 3rd Tim kelly
our third Banfield
4th Patmore

I See 5 best 22 in through FA & trade and 3 draft picks who could impact next year. We lose gaff 2 second rounders and our current first. We improve speed , marking power, Cover the loss of inside ability through mature players, improve the goal kicking ability from midfield, our link up through half forward and are still drafting for the future.

FB Hurn Barrass Sheppard
HB Yeo Mcgovern Duggan
C Acres Rockliff Hall
HF Jetta Darling Venables
FF Fasolo Kennedy Rioli
R Nicnat Shuey Sheed
I Lycett Redden Mountford Cripps

Mackenzie, Vardy potential roles determined by opposition.
Clark, Cole, Nelson and potentially Watson as other defenders/defensive mids who can come in and play a role
Kelly, Banfield, Hutchings, Partington, Mutimer as midfield options / depth midfield
Up front Lecras and Waterman are the next in line. Of the players listed below karpany could also be borderline depth.

If need be masten, schofield, wellingham, lamb, karpany can be the potential additions to balance things out if other clubs are interested.

36-37 players who could genuinely be ready to play a role in the best 22 next season. With a good mix of inside and outside options.
