I'm more keen on Kelly than ah Chee to be honest. Wouldn't mind ah Chee at a 4th rounder but he seems like another midfielder lacking versatility. At least with Kelly he seems like he could play a multiple roles.

It's very simple boys and girls. We are potentially competing with 17 other clubs for Tim Kelly's services. So if the clubs really wants him we may have to use a second rounder.

Ah Chee is uncontracted and has nominated us as his destination. Hence competing with pretty much no-one, port should be ******* grateful for a fourth rounder and do whats right by the player.

Afl website says he wants to come to us , we offered a 4th rnd pick and port want a 3rd rnd pick , afl website says if it can't be worked out he'll go to the draft and will be happy to go wherever
Which sounds a bit strange after picking us

"This puzzled me a bit after nominating us !!
"AFL website quote "

OUT-OF-CONTRACT Port Adelaide midfielder Brendon Ah Chee has nominated West Coast as his club of choice for next season.

AFL.com.au understands Ah Chee is happy with the Eagles' offer, but the sticking point is what compensation the Power want in return.

The Eagles are offering their fourth-round selection, pick No.68 overall, but the Power want at least the Eagles' third-round pick (No.49 overall).

If a deal cannot be struck, Ah Chee is prepared to go into the draft and continue his career elsewhere.

Wouldn't we get Ah Chee as a delisted FA if a trade doesn't eventuate?
Hmm...yeah, that would be possible, but who knows when they'll delist him though. I think that they can hold on to him until whenever is the latest that a club can delist a player, perhaps after the 3rd and final delisted free agency period ends and right before the PSD. Picking him up in the PSD could be an option though, which is the last opportunity for us to get him before the final list lodgments.

We might want to get a deal done before the draft though, so we know exactly how many players we can pick up. Perhaps playing the long game might be the most beneficial for us. Don't even know why he would even consider entering the draft and be in the dark about where he'll end up. Hopefully Port will eventually agree to accept our 4th pick though. Like someone else said, maybe our 3rd, plus a swap of our 5th for their 4th could be a possibility.

Not denying that he would be an awesome pick up but not for Gaff a first and a second round pick.
He's worth Gaff and our first rounder, without hesitation.

Patty is a family friend of mine (was lucky enough to have the big fella at my wedding last year), hate to say it but I can't see him leaving Carlton. That was despite my plea for him to come home to West Coast. Of course, I'm as shocked as you that my plea wasn't enough to get him to ask Carlton to be traded home.

But, if he did get homesick and wanted to come home, we should move heaven and high earth to make it happen.

His missus (who is the daughter of my wife's close family friends) moved over to Melbourne with him last year though, so he's pretty set over there I believe.

Still, never say never! We owe Carlton, that much is for certain.

Ebert was our pick 13 . Had talent but didnt want to renew a contract. We asked for a 1 st round. Port offered a 2nd round and a 3rd they got by trading out a couple of old players.
Port want a 3rd for Ah Chee so we offer a 4 th. Fair deal if they take the 4th .
Maybe we ought to save that for when SPP decides he wants to come home lol. I think he said he wants to be a one team player or something like that, but you never know...

Brendan Foster suggests we offer Kennedy up for Hogan. Loony or nah?

Notes from Rawlings on Trade Radio

Quiet day on day one

Met with PA and spoke about Ah Chee - inside mid that can go fwd. 4 games for the year so wants more opportunities. With the loss of Priddis and Mitchell need some experience players in the middle. Said nothing about pick or value

Rate the draft so happy to goto draft

List needs to be rejuvenated. Inside mid with speed. Will try to improve draft position.

Spoke about speaking with Gaff in coming weeks to extend contract, Gov as well.

No chats with Collingwood about Fasolo

Reaffirmed going to draft. Really would like to get up higher. 13 and 30 are not going to be used in trades atm

No one has asked about Masten.

Wilson – felt that we are ok in defence and not an area of need atm

Is Callum Ah Chee even that good besides being a high WA pick?
I've honestly seen very little from Callum Ah Chee to justify his high draft pick status, let alone having him as a potential trade target.

Bare in mind he's only a pup and played 2 seasons, but he's not a mid he's a HFF. Kicked 12 goals from 14 games this year though, more than i thought :thumbsupemoji:

Mmm I don't disagree that our stocks for medium/small defenders are okay but Wilson offers a real point of difference with his pace. Will be spewing if Freo pick him up relatively cheap without us even trying to push the price up.

Good stuff from Rawlings. Keeping cards close to his chest. I'd be more than happy walking away from this period with Ah Chee and improved draft position. Happy to take a tumble next year if it means building up our youth stocks and playing them*

He came second in the magarey medal this year I think. Thats nothing to be sneezed at. How old is he?

From the overview sounds like we are doing nothing.

So I'm guessing no interest in the players we would be willing to trade. And no luck convincing anyone other than ah Chee to come to us.

He did seem keen to improve the draft position, not so sure how he will do it, but slightly interesting none the less.

Hopefully we focus all our energies on not giving away our third for ah Chee. And on keeping an eye out for useful pick swaps.
