Ultimately, great lists (not great players) win Premierships.

If we can trade a great player, to make our list greater, we should probably look into it.

Trading Gov for 2 speculative first rounders (which aren't even top 5) isn't a guarantee. The compensation would need to at least equal his impact, and I doubt whoever we pick would be able to do that.

That's also ignoring Rohan O'Brien's track record.

You're probably right about Gov's value. If Gibbs is worth 1st+2nd, and Deledio is worth a 1st. Gov is probably worth Early 1st + Late 1st.

Why? Not much point in trading just for the sake of trading! It's not that easy moving Clubs sometimes for the proper deal has to be done by the Clubs concerned.

This trade period is unbearably slow even by the usual trade period standards.

It's been going almost three full days, trade radio has somehow been running 11 hours a day for the last week and a half, and they basically have nothing to talk about. There's been one and a half free agent signings and that's it.

It's maddening.

Don't you know the majority of the trades are done in the last couple of days. At the moment they are all just counter-offering, like you do in real estate!

Pretty much our list in terms of pure numbers. 4 A graders and depth. Difference being none of our 4 are midfielders, 2 had injury interrupted seasons (one didn't play at all), and our depth isnt 100% buying into, or not fully suited to, the gameplan.

If we go off Richmonds model all we theoretically need is to clear the depth out and bring in guys that suit our gameplan (guys with good disposal, left and right, under pressure and guys that can stick a damn tackle).
