Just another example of the AFL changing the rules to get the outcome they want.

As others have said ultimately it is going to the Suns anyway

A contract that I would suggest is significantly under what we have offerred. Port must be getting very close to the new cap, last year Dixon moved for big money, now Rockliff and Motlop plus they are still chasing Watts.

If Port offers Ah chee a one or two yeatr deal on $200k opposed to what his true market value what does that mean within the AFL guidelines?

Thats what Im getting at / asking.

From what has been reported watts salary will be paid by Melbourne for a better draft pick in return .
But Lobbe is on 1millon over the next two years which is why they are trying to trade him or as port said ' let him leave for opportunity ' bullshit cough cough .

WC get Ah Chee, lose Lamb
Freo get Matera & Lamb, lose pick 40
GC get Young, lose Matera
Port lose Young & Ah Chee get 40

Can see port paying that for motlop

Also heard that the matera trade will be done on the last day probably the same as the last 2 years freo will swap a future 2 to GC.

Exactly and arguably we have just as good Wafl players to draft. We will get him in the uncontracted player draft. The Afl may step in and force Port to take our 4th as they will want to cancel the uncontracted player draft due to lack of enough interest. This way Port upholds their stance and we uphold ours and the deal still gets done. Everyone is then happy

As the non-trade period reaches the half-way point, here is my best guess of our ins and outs:

Main list

Out:
1. Mitchell
2. Priddis
3. Giles
4. Butler
5/6. Two of Lamb/Hill/Wellingham (think we keep Sharrod and Hill goes)

In:
1. Ah Chee (for our 4th or something slightly more in Port's favour)
2. Pick 13 - inside/out contested bull dual-sided speed-machine goal-kicking mid #1
3. Pick 32 - inside/out contested bull dual-sided speed-machine goal-kicking mid #2
4. Pick 50 - small forward
5. Pick 87 - forward/mid
6. Either we move to 38 players on main list, pick up a DFA, use a very late ND selection (that we would have to bring in), or keep two of Lamb/Hill/Wellingham. Can't see us upgrading a rookie.

Out (retain Gorter and McInnes, and Watson/Bayok on Cat B):
