The new ruling on Category A rookies being available for senior selection may see quite a rise in the recruiting of those mature age rookies. It could be a real life line to guys who developed a bit later or needed an extra couple of years to get their heads screwed on. Much lower risk for the clubs to have a look at them on a 1 year deal and be able to play them if they want to without having to have an LTI.

Not sure if srs...
Very serious.

If having him cheap helped lure his brother its a no brainer, worse case he plays wafl just like any player we would have taken with that pick, best case he becomes a contributor, finds his best form again and his brother comes home.

We always talk about getting one spud to lure over a better brother but I can't remember it ever happening except maybe with Beams but that was to do with his dad I thought

At least these brothers are from Perth.

If we are signing spuds to get their brothers maybe we can look into whether conigilio has a brother?

Worked well for Collingwood with the Clokes.

Meh he's rookie listed as a depth ruckman/forward. It barely affects the list.

Nonsense.

It does effect the list when it goes on for three or four years longer than it should have.

Andrew Swallow is a cooked spud.

Disagree, travel doesn't kill him or any of the others. There has been no pressure been put on these players to replace them. It is easy to say just play someone else but they should have to perform highly at WAFL level to get picked and they don't.
Look at Partington this year, so many on here were screaming for him to be played yet lets look honestly at his year. He played an enormous amount of football at East Perth as a midfielder yet polled very poorly in the Sandover which to me is not the best guide but it is an indicator as you know about that huge gap between WAFL and AFL!!! He didn't even come top 3 in the East Perth best and Fairest yet some think he was knocking the door down.
My point is the players playing for the Eagles have little pressure to perform on them, of course they should want to and there character should be questioned but that is just the culture at the Eagles.

Culture, Committment and dedication to the cause is the reason we are so inconsistent, not just Lecras but many of our best 22.

Partington was playing well at WAFL level where he played as a midfielder, then he was promoted to the AFL and played as a half forward. Hardly surprising he wasnt replicating his wafl form.
