Has averaged a very healthy 27 disposals per game over that time.

Loves a soft tissue injury though. 16, 15 & 17 games last 3 years though. Another ST injury now too

I wouldn't be surprised to see a contracted player end up at St Kilda considering what picks we have and the fact we are keen to get rid of them.

Guthrie is only Saints style because he's a soft B grader. We have a very good collection of those already.

One thing that was glaringly obvious is how dull the saints are to watch at the moment.
They NEED a star. Someone with a bit of Personality. A character to excite the team and the fans. Someone with a bit of mongrel to rile up the other team and get under their skin. Someone who still goes at 300 miles an hour even when the game is already a guarenteed win because he wants to pile on 12 more goals.
Bruce used to have a bit of that about him but he seems like a ghost of his former self at the moment. Won't even celebrate or crack a smile after a goal.

Jakey Carlisle is the only one that seems to have this at the moment. Almost everyone else bar a 1 or 2, while being great players, just seem to be going through the motions.

This is why I am very keen on Martin and to a lesser degree Rockliff and Fyfe (haven't personally watched too much of Kelly, think he is a gun but not sure about star power). I don't care if there are better options skill wise or team structure wise, the team needs some fight and excitement to give everyone some confidence back.

That will change once we hit our straps - with Sinclair , Billings, Ross ripping teams apart and our tall forwards start kicking some goals - the legends biuld.

Guthrie is the type you try to trade out; inconsistent with flashes of great games, but in reality the gap between his best and worst means he will always be a possible weakness to your team.

Kind of like Rhys Stanley.

There is a theme in football that teams begin to emulate the personality of the coach after a time and ours is robotic and boring and thats how the team are playing!
