Possibly, he's not worth any more than your second rounder.I see Luke dunstan is back in for the saints but would he be gettable for second rounder?
Interesting discussion.Looks almost certain we will have pick 1 this year along with Ports 1st rounder (between 9-16?), what would teams be willing to give for one or both those picks. Similar to the deal we did last year with GWS ie. IIRC our pick 2 for picks 3 and 17. Deal may have to involve multiple clubs as the only other club with 2 first round picks is St.Kilda (on current ladder position picks 3 and 11).

i think that it might suit brisbanes needs more to do some "boutique trading". by that i mean trade down in drafts to have multiple picks like 6 & 11 rather than 1. with high draft picks you are under pressure to take the best player regardless and then two years later attempt to talk him out of going home. with 6 & 11 they can draft queensland kids or kids committed to staying even if they are not the 6th & 11th best players (did i see that berry has resigned?). cant keep having schache scenarios.Interesting discussion.
Those picks will move a little in my opinion. What about pick 6 and 11 for pick 1?
Guess it comes down to the quality/depth of the draft.
1. You need to have Academy kids worth drafting.i think that it might suit brisbanes needs more to do some "boutique trading". by that i mean trade down in drafts to have multiple picks like 6 & 11 rather than 1. with high draft picks you are under pressure to take the best player regardless and then two years later attempt to talk him out of going home. with 6 & 11 they can draft queensland kids or kids committed to staying even if they are not the 6th & 11th best players (did i see that berry has resigned?). cant keep having schache scenarios.
yes he is - but he is has been injury free for two years now and starting to play good football...he will play to 32 and in good form like mummy i am sure..mummy has had big injuries as well
I guess the two obvious questions are, would St Kilda be willing to trade both picks? And do Hawthorn and St Kilda both finish there abouts?
From Brisbane's perspective it's a no brainier trade at the moment.
Probably not worth us trading him for pick 34-36, he isn't worth much more than that but unless we needed a pick like that to get a deal done he probably has more value to us than 35ish
Would think that Kreuzer would draw offers that would get us an end of round 1 compensation pick at worst (band 2). How many game changing ruckmen who are in effect also an extra mid are there likely to be on the market. Would imagine with the salary cap going up by over $2mill then offers of 3 years @$750K (bearing in mind you have to pay a bit extra to get a player to leave) would be forthcoming. Has comfortable defeated Nankervis, Luenberger, Sinclair and Grundy this year and broke even with Gawn. Has missed 2 games in the last 2 years (so much for failing medicals), entering his prime years as a ruckman and players love playing with him. Worth a lot more to us than pick 19 though. No club would be stupid enough to offer that much for Kruezer when you can get him for cash under free agency. You will get a second round compensation selection.

I doubt anyone would trade 3,6 and 25 for 1,12 and 19.... what would be the point in that? There's no clear standout for the number 1 pick so why would someone over pay for it?1. You need to have Academy kids worth drafting.
2. Depends on the depth of the draft class and Brisbane's needs.
I would put picks 1, 12 & 19 on the table to try and get picks 3 and 6 and say 25.
band 1 wont need adjusting as a club requires the offer to put the player in the top 5% paid players over 25 years of age to activate it. the amount required will adjust automatically as players salaries go up.There is no way you would get band 1, if he does, they need to re-do the band 1/2 stipulations. In fact they should be doing that now anyway. The old 550k is now 700k a season. There is a lot more money clubs can spend. Band 2 is fair enough. You are still taking a massive punt with a player who has done an ACL in the past. It is still a bit of a punt. Would I like my club to take the gamble, maybe.

intetesting that you say he's not worth that much and the suggest he may be worth that much to your team. suspect that your salary cap may not allow you to have a go at him but he would be great for the swans. allow tippett to play 80% up forward and not get injured as much. no more sinclair or naismith. you would be immeasurably better.
Some clubs most likely do believe there's a standout and wouldn't want to risk missing out.I doubt anyone would trade 3,6 and 25 for 1,12 and 19.... what would be the point in that? There's no clear standout for the number 1 pick so why would someone over pay for it?
The opinion of many of the Brisbane Academy watches is that Ballenden is overrated by the draft watchers. You run the massive risk of someone bidding at 2 for your Academy kid (who is definitely going to be a early first rounder). Your best play is take the best kid you feel suits you at 1 (doesn't have to be the best player), and then you get your tall academy kid. There is two elite talents for you this draft.
Talk to some of the draft guys in the draft section.I doubt anyone would trade 3,6 and 25 for 1,12 and 19.... what would be the point in that? There's no clear standout for the number 1 pick so why would someone over pay for it?

Like last year, Allison was spoken about as a top 10 prospect, but ended up being drafted in the 50's.
Long way to go yet.
Just a tad off I reckon, 4 and 11 yes, unless as you say the depth is very good and it becomes quite difficult to identify a clear top 2-3 players.Interesting discussion.

For some Darcy Fogarty is a clear stand out.
I'd sooner take Luke Davies-Uniacke and Lochie O'Brien.Fogarty would suit your side quite well.

Pick 1, 12 & 19 are on the table for those two and a mid second round coming back our way.

"He's worth bugger all" so he adds bugger all to that deal. Lever is the most promising key defender in the AFL and is worth a lot more than pick 11.He's worth bugger all. Could be steak knives. Saints first pick which is currently pick 11 & Dunstan for Jake Lever. Of course you don't wanna lose Lever but if he did make up his mind to head to Vic pick 11 & Dunstan isn't bad compensation.
