I like to think we show our huge balls and let him slide to our 2nd. That would be amazeballs.
Don't think it's impossible.....

Eagles - don't really need a small forward and are already committed to cameron
Crows - already picked up 2 small forwards and are in need of a ruck (bid for briggs, pick up williams?)
Sydney - need mids or hbf if they push there current hbf to midfield - danger pick for hill
Melbourne - Could probably use a hill type - have they been burnt by jesse? do they want to get back at us for not giving them 5 and 6 for jesse? Have a small forward nga also
Gold coast - Have rankine and ainsworth already - need mids surely
GWS - lose pick on briggs probably
Bulldogs - lose pick on west probably
Brisbane - lose pick on mcfadyen probably

Eagles, Swans and Melbourne seem most likely to me

Lore has updated picks for tomorrow.

We now have 34, 41 and 59. So our 2nd out by the 3 academy picks but the other two in because of them. Still, Kelly, West, McFadyen and Briggs to be bid on.

Sounds good to me.

Imagine the melts if we passed on him at 34... :drunk:

Whether they need him may not come into it. It may just be that they look at the players left and take the best available if a player they need will be there at a later pick- especially if they have another pick in the 30s or early 40s. By the late 20s/early 30s that could very well be Hill if he hasn't been taken.

Yeh definitely think its more than likely he's gone by west coasts second pick at the latest

A bit like the way we picked Balic a couple of years ago. He slide down the order and we thought that his raw talent couldn't be ignored at that 30-something pick we had

I agree. I think this is the correct order at the moment, where 11 teams have a pick before us. Not only would have picking Hill with our first heal some of the karmic crap of not picking BHill and he creamed us in the gf in 2013, having IHill is a better fit for filling in the gaps that Ballers/Matera/Walters will leave.

My take on Day 1:

- disappointed we missed out Clark, a good Albany boy. A very good cricketer as well as junior footballer. Which bodes well for his ability to adapt to a professional environment (ie, he's been in 2 elite junior programs and succeeded in both)

- happy with Sturt! He's quick and has some height and leap. I think his height and leap make him a better fit for us than Hill. If Ian wasn't a Hill would people be so concerned?

- think the best work if the day was the Sydney/WCE trading

Gold Coast looking to get Hill. Rankine and Hill in the same side is some serious speed/talent!

Top 12 players remaining based off pre-draft phantoms (we can get at least one of these)
  1. Ian Hill
  2. Luke Valente
  3. Curtis Taylor
  4. Jez McLennan
  5. Bailey Williams
  6. Luke Foley
  7. Jacob Kennerley
  8. Sydney Stack
  9. Jack Bytel
  10. Will Hamill
  11. Jacob Koschitzke
  12. Fraser Turner

Hopefully Rhylee West gets bidded on before the Bulldog's #30 pick. Same goes with Connor McFadyen before Brisbane's #33 and Kieran Briggs before GWS's #28.
