2 AFL matches in 3 seasons would suggest not. Even those 2 matches were way, way below his previous standards. If Freo keep him, and it looks like they will, it would be in hopes of making him a small/medium forward. Ballantyne can't last forever and Bennell has always been more of an attacking player. He was 76kg when he played for the Suns and he's listed as 85kg now playing for Peel, which perhaps has something to do with his soft tissue injuries and loss of pace.Serious thought here, does anyone on the thread think that Bennell could ever regain his form, he used to be great getting 20+ touches and a goal or two a game.

Probably means he has lost his zip and is getting led to the ball a lot.2 AFL matches in 3 seasons would suggest not. Even those 2 matches were way, way below his previous standards. Stats wise, he isn't setting the WAFL on fire with just 10 kicks and 5 handballs a game. To give perspective, ex-Sun Kyal Horsley has been averaging almost 31 touches a game and came 2nd in the Sandover Medal. Weirdly, Bennell received only 2 free kicks in 11 games, but gave away 17 - make of it what you will.
Haven't seen any of it, but the numbers tell the story and he went all season without getting close to a Freo recall. The fact is that the Dockers have had 3 retirements and Neale is all but out the door, so they need to capitalise on the Trade period just to ensure they replace those 4 players. With Danyle Pearce gone, he'll have opportunities, but with Adam Cerra, Andrew Brayshaw, Darcy Tucker and Ed Langdon competing for spots he'll want to have the pre-season of his life.Probably means he has lost his zip and is getting led to the ball a lot.
Would have thought we would go with that. Thanks for the inputHey guys, have very solid mail that if Carlton go with Walsh at 1 that you’ll select Lukosius and Rozee with 2&3, Rankine and the Kings are both considered too much of a flight risk. Not sure about Bailey Smith but presumably the same story.

so pretty much seals the fact that we wont be seeing any condescending Richmond flogs coming on our board telling us what scraps we are going to get and be thankful for while barrelling towards the second GF and stealing Lynch, well guess ******* WHAT its all over and Lynch is going to a club on the way down
Waaaaay tooo much arrogance and entitlement from their club, players and supporters and the game has moved on

Hi , How you doingHello, The Gun
Now you know exactly how Suns fans feel when watching a team constantly hacking it forward and getting repeatedly intercepted on halfback, getting thrashed down the wings, being beaten in every single measurable statistic and having more opposition fans at your own home ground. It is easy to see why you want Lynch, but now harder to see the Suns simply letting him go knowing how much you need him.Hi , How you doing
Mate im a 53 year old thats followed Richmond since i was 4 years old and if you think that we have had it easy and need to learn about teams having bad games or years maybe you should have a look at the last 38 years of Richmond. Now you know exactly how Suns fans feel when watching a team constantly hacking it forward and getting repeatedly intercepted on halfback, getting thrashed down the wings, being beaten in every single measurable statistic and having more opposition fans at your own home ground. And yet you still have no problem with being the very top team - you are still Minor Premiers - and poaching our best player for nothing. I think you should pay for Lynch with a decent player and pick #16 plus a future pick. I also think the AFL should give the Suns the maximum priority pick at the top of the Draft - by the way, Carlton blew their 2007 Draft and you picked Cotchin and Rance with your pick #2 and priority pick, so I don't really get your point. And 2 years later you got Dusty at pick #3, which was a year before the Suns first Draft when you got Conca at pick #6.Mate im a 53 year old thats followed Richmond since i was 4 years old and if you think that we have had it easy and need to learn about teams having bad games or years maybe you should have a look at the last 38 years of Richmond.
When the Suns entered the competition we finished last and Carlton 2nd last yet we got #2 with Carlton getting #1 + #3 in the following drafts our 1st picks were in the mid teens with no light at the end of the tunnel.
Trust me Richmond supporters know exactly what it feels like, Maybe if you lived through 37 years of the rubbish we went through and i personally spent days rattling cans to keep my team alive they were testing times.
Not losing a prelim
YepThis is why I was not keen on picking up some Tiger scraps. A lot of their players looked good when their system worked. When under pressure they just crumbled.

I wouldn't pay more than a third for a player that couldn't even get into a team that got demolished by the Pies.Surely if we go after these Richmond strugglers, we won’t be giving up anything more than a 4th rounder or late third if two are packaged together?
You have lost your credibility - 2nd rd picks for Ellis and Townsend SMH.I wouldn't mind spending some 2nd rounders on Ellis and Townsend, just not the 2nd rounders we have right now. Besides, if it helps them trade up to get a pick to trade for Lynch we'll be getting value back. If they can talk Freo out of pick #5 with pick #16, #34 and the 3rd round pick we give the for Miles, then we can give them a couple of 2nd rounders so it's worth their while and they can restock at the Draft. Probably still need their 2019 1st rounder, but we can give them something back for that. If they got really creative, they could winkle the Saints out of pick #3 and add a real player to swap with Lynch.
