Carlton fans seem to think they will get Sheil, McGovan and Setterfield AND still hold pick 1. I don’t see how this is possible but if they do it then they are at the opposite end of the spectrum than us as we seem to just give people away
They are all contracted. Good luck with that Blues fans.

I’m sick of the club making one stupid decision after another, 8 years of shaking my head has given me a head ache
Plus I’m 50 I’m supposed to be grumpy
I would of thought Setterfield and Sheil bundled is worth pick 1, going to be an interesting trade period

If it makes you feel any better, Setterfield went pick 5 in Scrimshaw's draft/ and already wants out...
Just as well GWS are winning as they'd be left with no one.
AFL have created a monster with free agency which has quickly led to contracted players wanting out whenever they feel like it.

Yeah probably right. Although I think his mind was already made up, whereas he kind of intimated that he hadn’t made a decision yet.

Not sure why he wouldn't have just said so a few days ago if his mind was made up. I was expecting him to nominate GC like Blakey decided to do with Sydney, big ask expecting a kid to leave home when there is another option.

He is your player now ,Looking forward to who GC pick at 27 and 30 .

It has been a disappointing year for you guys but you are going to get some great players in this draft.

So we're getting in a couple of players from Richmond who lack pace, probably another from Geelong who lacks pace in GHS, and we're not a fast side to begin with. Then I look at our overall Ins and Outs, and jot down our senior and NEAFL teams for next year. I see the same old thing, a young, inexperienced list, that lacks depth. Our best 22 is competitive, but should we get hit with even an average amount of injuries by AFL standards, we are simply put.... F#!?@d!!!

My only hope is that we have breakout years from a number of our young high draft picks, and we hit the jackpot with our draft and mature age selections this year.

Is there anything I'm missing that could see us finish higher than 15th??

Yes, majority mature age players coming in last year ( Weller , Young ,Holman) play in AFL and avoid injuries .

* Wigg is the only exception .

At least it's a rebuild without Brown, Brennan & Hunt!! Much prefer Miles, Ellis, Horlin Smith and some state league mature agers.

With Bailey Scott picking the kangas we might trade up the draft you would think... Won’t need the points as much... Hall and KK likely to happen. If we get picks for them on top of the existing 2, 3, 19, 28, 31, 40 and 43 we won’t have list spots... or do we trade for Fremantles future second like we do every year

Pretty happy Burgess has got a shot at the suns, I filmed a game of his in SA where he kicked 4 goals and was one of the best on.

One thing I remember was how 'hot' he got in a hurry, for a ~15 minute stretch it felt like everything was going his way - genuine contested marks (pack + 1v1) and long goal kicking (55+m set shots).

I'm hoping he gets some game time to show what he can do.

Don’t know much about him, I thought he was a defender?

Cheers :thumbsu: we're all hoping he does well too.

Don't know much about him and very hard to find any online footage. Can you describe him as a player? What's his pace / mobility like for a big bloke? Best attributes? Does he have a big tank? Etc.

Burgess, 22, is a versatile key-position player who has played at both ends of the ground in the SANFL after making his debut in 2016.

The utility joined West Adelaide prior to the 2015 season after impressing coaches with his strong contested marking skills at a come and try session when he was 18.

Originally a defender with a long and accurate kick, Burgess was moved to attack towards the end of 2017 and kicked three goals in the last match of the year.

Since then he has kicked 18 goals in as many games this year to finish equal-fourth in West Adelaide’s best and fairest.

He can play forward or back. Looks slightly awkward running, but doesn't get caught. Very good kick and is great overhead, often marking what he doesn't look entitled to.

For vision, look at any West Adelaide SANFL game.

I agree he can dominate a game for periods.
