I am sure SOS will pull a rabbit out of the hat - the club has already reported we are looking for players in the 22-26 year old bracket. Either one of Lukocius or Walsh will do me - but leaning towards Walsh + 3 x trades + 3 x late draft picks.

At least rabbits will give us a bit of speed.

No. This draft/trade period. There will easily be 8-10 changes this year

1) Graham - been around a while now. Too good for VFL but not up to AFL
2) Phillips - it will either be him or Lobbe that stays but not both
3) O'Shea - gone
4) Thomas? - will depend on Williamson's fitness
5) Rowe? - I want him to stay, so hopefully he will get another year
6) Lamb? - surely will be gone unless he can really perform for the rest of the year
7) JGM - gone
8) Lobbe? - Probably kept in case Kruezer goes down as DeKoning is still raw
9) Casboult - name gets thrown around every year but it's time for Kerr and McKay to have a go
10) A. Silvagni - love the guy but his body has let him down
11) Murphy? (I hope not)
12 LeBois?

Others will depend on who else is recruited, eg; Kerridge, Wright

The carnage is far from over

Sentimentally I reckon he's been one of our very best all year. I know the end can come pretty quick but I think rumours of his demise are premature.

There is no coherent argument that Simmo is not in our best 22, starting 18 right now.

Given he's 130-odd years old, that's not great signs for the future, but he's still our now. Reckon we've got maybe one more year to have his replacement ready.

Levi isn't going anywhere just yet. Its only injury that has curtailed him this season.

Just a question to all. Given that many on here have been saying all year that we're going into games with too many talls and, apparently, Jono Brown criticised our recruitment of talls on OTC, if we finish with the first pick and take Lukosis and then, as most expect, BSOS which talls do we get rid of to maintain balance?

I know Casboult is probably the first but, after that,, who?

Do we bite the bullet and try to trade McKay, or Kerr as they may have a bit of currency?

Jeremy McGovern as a RFA, Jake Lloyd who is OOC to replace Simmo, Angus Brayshaw who is also OOC Sam Walsh with our first pick, whether that be pick 1 or pick 2 or pick 3, whichever we end up with.
This morning i thought I heard Whateley say to David king that he had a rumor re mogovern, Sloan to Carlton for the number 1 pick. I was waiting to hear the extras they would throw in but nothing was forthcoming. Also casboult was on his way to qld was not sure of which club.

Not surprising he thinks we will have 1 at the end of the season. For what it’s worth I don’t we will end up with 1.

I’ll give you the short answer NO!

Makes no sense sloane is a free agent and McGovern would only be worth a 2nd round pick

I think that with another pre-season each, Kerr and McKay will be more than adequate coverage for Levi.
The problem is though that he has never been worth anything on the trade market, so the lack of interest will mean that he either stays on the list or gets de-listed. Sadly, we will be stuck with him again.

What is it about Free Agency that Whately doesn't understand?

IF we draft lukosious, I would be tempted to trade McKay if the right deal came along.

Maybe if suns lose lynch they would trade a first rounder for him + something else.

Would need to be an exceptional deal though.

SOS: Harry can I see you for a sec?
Harry: yeah boss?
SOS: we need to draft a decent mobile forward at number one …. you know that Lucozade bloke?
Harry: cool, will that interfere with me getting games in the seniors? …
SOS : doubt it, since Brissy lost Lynch you should be guaranteed playing every one I reckon
Harry: Huh?
SOS : yeah you have to make way and trade you to brissy
Harry : **** off I'm contracted you Al Pacino wanna be … and **** brisbane

That convo should go well …. I reckon ….

Rowe, ASOS, JGM should all be gone end of this year. Possibly a Lobbe or Phillips

Adding Lukosius and then Ben as a rookie, think it improves the balance.

Completely understand the notion, but we shouldn't trade out our excess talls until we know which ones we want.

Having McCay, Kerr, Curnow, SOSOS and possibly BSOSOS and Lukosis all competing for their spot is going to make them all better players. Once we have worked out who's developed better we keep em, and trade out the spare change that is serviceable but not needed for that sweet KPP tradevalue.

Im curious what we do re our rucks at the end of the year. Kruze will not get more durable with age.
Lobbe is likely to never get a game unless we are out of options.
Phillips has showed signs but also hasn't had a breakout game.
TDK more of a forward that can ruck?

Will we look at a young future first ruckman?

For me Rowe to Rookie list or retire him and probably delist Lobbe. ASOS and JGM off the rookie list. Next year clean up the list properly when we have a better idea on Kerr, MacCreadie, McKay with O'Shea also going

I'd love to groom TDK and McKay as alternating forward rucks.

Without knowing contract status, I'd like for the following to go:

Mullett
OShea
Lobbe (Phillips is better imo)
Graham
5 X rookies

Potential 5 replacement rookies: Wright, Byrne, Thomas, Kerridge, Lamb (although probably want to get some projects in)
The carnage is far from over
